Description
Copper and glass, 24x14 cm. I made this lamp to fit on the top of a post either on a stair rail or outside in an entry way. The glass is amber when lit from the inside, and the copper makes beautiful shadows.Related content

Thanks. You could give one of those a try in your metals class. I used a step shear to cut the strips, and a cheap bending break to crease them. The sides are just copper sheet with the designs cut with a jeweler's saw. The top is a copper fence post cap from the lumber yard, and the rivets are copper boat nails. The only tricky metalwork in the project was forging the curve on the struts. Someday I want to teach those as a weekend workshop.

Thanks; I also made a simple grill work version that is much more akin to the origional A&C stuff.
Cheers.
