Description While fumbling around my computer a few days ago, I accidentaly unearthed the original story I wrote around 1999 about a character named "Ice" (who later got into In the DARK, one of my comics) and based on that I drew this sketch...It's supposed to represent an Air Pirates' hideout set in an disused harbour, somewhere in an apocaliptic future...

The scene to me looks more like where the USS Yorktown and the USS Hammann were sunk by the Japanese submarine I-168 while it was being taken back to the US after the battle of Midway. Still, it looks awesome!

Wow, why is this pic not getting any attention? This is good stuff, I like the tempra highlights (or is it whiteout? I know of at least one other artist who uses whiteout for highlights, aka, Gennady). The plane design is very eye pleasing, has that experimental Luftwaffe feel to it, like one of those jet aircraft projects that never really got off the ground, so to speak. Good angling, good composition, good colors, good overall line quality and feel. This is definitely a perspective piece that succeeds. I am glad to have stumbled across something that I like, and it is by someone who has been leaving more-tha-gracious comments on my site for all of this time. Cool stuff.

Hey, thanks for the kind words....glad you like it....Indeed, the plane is based on the Horten Ho 229 Flying Wing fighter, that although was tested as a glider by Flugkapitan Hanna Reitsch (Luftwaffe's best female test pilot) never saw production... ah...yes....and those white highlights are made with white Rotring ink...although I also use whiteout and tempera as well...

Thank you! I'll take that as a compliment...It wasn't directly inspired, but I most certainly like his art...
