Description
This is a short comic for a contest over at World of Tanks.[link]The deadline was brutally short (6 days, and it fell right into the most hectic week of the past two months), so it didn't come out quite as good as I hoped, but still it was fun to do, because I've been toying with the idea of drawing a WOT comic for quite some time and this contest merely gave me the best opportunity to get off my lazy ass and actually do it.

oh gawd do I know this situation, match is a couple seconds from starting "okai, anyone got a strategy? cuz I was thinking that....uh....guys?" ~sitting alone on base, a few scouts dead by stupidity induced physics deaths, and one guy answers back "shoot shit, don't die, duh" like where does anyone get into calling this a strategy game at times, only real game plans come in when half the teams dead, and a number of times tha's too late e.e XD love the comic much

All these situations happened to me: noobs go suicide without waiting for the rest of the team to support them; I got killed by a heavy after I scratched his paint, incidentally they were the exact tanks like in this comic; noobs with lolguns "snipe"; Lemmings - a lot of times; the only thing that didn't happen was for me to be miraculously rescued, and the only thing you didn't show was the heaviest tank(s) base-sitting *this happens a lot on the US server.

Thanks, I like taking the little guy out for a battle once in a while. It's indeed a great tank. Biggest thing I ever killed with it was an IS7 (OK, it was distracted and it took 8 shells in the back from point blank range, but still...)

Yep... I'm usually a T-50 or another fast tank going ahead, finding everyone then getting killed.
I don't blame any "noobs" of course. It's what scout tanks do, they finds things, then get shot to pieces...

Well, there are experienced scouts out there who manage to make a great job even if they die in the process (you're probably one of these) and there are idiots whose idea of "scouting" seems to be to blindly rush forward in a straight line and be blown to bits before they manage to sight even a single enemy tank and then blame it on "insufficient support" from the others, especially if those other players haven't managed to get in any support position... These are the guys I'm mocking here.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm good or not. I usually spot a total of 5 or 6 enemies before I get killed (usually by an anti-tank single shot from behind some bushes that I never managed to see). And get 0 kills of course. (This I only manage to do on flat maps, the one with mountains and stuff, I an only spot the guys that were using the same mountain pass I was using.)
I don't actually have a problem with doing it, its just that you don't get that much XP points from being a scout, and I want to upgrade my tanks! I'm pretty sure we would get more experienced scouters in the game if WoT actually gave more experience from finding enemies.

oh...
well, the idea is to have an M103 hiding in arty cover, he pops out to shoot, and gets nailed by five arty rounds at once... but survives with 1%HP... the last shot is of all the Arty just flat out saying "Mine" (like the seagulls in Finding Nemo)

Diddo on that. Only one not yet shown is when the arties are left totally alone and enemy scouts simply break through and jump right on top them. I'm almost always the arty...
HOWEVER, I can't totally complain about that, since I shot up two scouts in one game as soon as they were coming in on me. Pissed them off to no end (and I was reading them cussing me out).

I actually wanted to include something about the arty being left defenceless in the strip (and show a pack of light tanks circling like a pack of wolves) but that bit was left on the cutting room floor due to the time constraints. I'll put it in the next one if I ever get around to make it.

I think you should do a whole strip on the funny perks and foibles of being an arty. That would probably highlight every one of my personal experiences, awesome and bad...

lol, in one battle in the M41 I managed a seemingly impossible shot... I fired a shot, it went under the train (this wasn't provinoka FYI, but that city map with a train on a hill), and killed a guy. I fealt like the best arty player ever since I managed to thread the needle on that shot.

Nice shot! I started feeling better as an arty after most games I was hitting an average of 5 tanks, killing around 2 or three. Best I did was kill four, including two arties, a td, and polished off a heavy that was whittled down. Best arty I got is a Priest, good overall except when you end up at the bottom of the stack against tier 8 & 9. Those guys are impossible to kill.
