Cancers are biologically akin to crabs or similar aquatic entities, being noteworthy for their hard, brightly colored exoskeletons and highly muscular bearings. In spite of their rather intimidating forms however, Cancers are behaviorally more benign and rarely engage in open opposition unless fully provoked. Similar to Aquarians, their society is known for being amphibious and relatively advanced, though Cancers are somewhat unique in that they are almost instinctively drawn to emigration. Indeed, there are many Cancer colonies and settled worlds throughout the galaxy (both aligned with the Hierarchy and independent of), while individual Cancers are oft stereotyped as explorers and astrographers. Because of these traits, they can commonly be found aboard starships and among spacefaring crews.
