Description I dont care if some people dont like them.
But it pisses me off when people go on about huting them, or hating them and anyone who likes them, or saying "screw wolves, I like [_any less recognized animal__] .
Seriously, grow up.

People really have to stop hating wolves. I mean don't obsess over them I agree with that, but that doesn't mean they have to be killed.

I too like wolves. Though I'm neutral about the hunting, if it's for your or your animal's protection then I'm fine with it, just as long as not to many are killed.
They are interesting animals.

Being a Wolf Lover is something to be proud of. Being a Wolfaboo is not. Its realy, realy nothing to be proud of.

What's a wolfaboo, exactally?

megadracosaurus In reply to Stormlover10 [2015-06-29 20:54:18 +0000 UTC]

They're pretty much rabid, overly-obsessed wolf lovers that will bully people that don't like wolves, support wolf hunting (Which doesn't immidiatly mean someone hates wolves), prefer other animals over wolves, have wolf taxidermy or pretty much everyone that doesn't like wolves as much as they do. Wolfaboos will also only care about wolves and other cute, usually canine animals. While they cry and scream when a wolf gets killed, they'll be neutral or even supportive of the abuse or death of another animal, usually 'ugly' one's like snakes, cows and sharks. I've literally met wolfaboos who thought that hunting wolves for the sake of population control was evil, yet found cutting of the fins of living sharks or forcing chickens to fight each other completely ethical. There are fans like that for almost every animal, but wolfaboos (And dogs as well) and horsaboos seem the most common.

Winter-on-Mars In reply to toyotomo [2014-04-09 10:02:14 +0000 UTC]

So do humans. Whats your point? And they aren't necessarily needless, there are reasons behind many of them.

what kind of reasons, and we humans look down upon needless killing sprees, wolves couldn't care less

Winter-on-Mars In reply to toyotomo [2014-04-11 00:10:34 +0000 UTC]

Protecting their territory, protecting their pack, instincts. The humans that do the killing sprees don't regret it.  Wolves don't have morals. Just like babies don't understand right from wrong. Besides, not all wolves do that.

toyotomo In reply to Winter-on-Mars [2014-04-11 01:21:10 +0000 UTC]

first of all from what i've seen just about every massacre that has ever been committed has been looked on as a tragedy and crime by the majority of the world. And yes all wolves are known to engage in this behavior. And doesn't the fact that wolves have no morals make humans better than wolves

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Winter-on-Mars In reply to toyotomo [2014-04-11 08:31:04 +0000 UTC]

Yes but the people who commit the crime don't care. Not ALL wolves engage in this behavior,  just like not all people do. No it does not make us better. Are adults better than babies becuase babies don't have morals?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

toyotomo In reply to Winter-on-Mars [2014-04-11 13:34:43 +0000 UTC]

actually babies do have morals, www.cnn.com/2014/02/12/us/baby… .
and like I said when that person commits that crime the rest of humanity will look down on said crime just because the one who committed it doesn't care doesn't mean the rest of us do.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Winter-on-Mars In reply to toyotomo [2014-04-12 10:37:52 +0000 UTC]

And not all wolves are serial killers. The point is we shouldn't kill them for those reasons. Are you suggesting we should specifically find and kill every wolf who has gone on a killing spree, or just kill them all becuase they're all evil? The same thing could be said about humans. I don't think an eye for an eye will really be the best option.

toyotomo In reply to Winter-on-Mars [2014-04-12 16:27:03 +0000 UTC]

thats not the argument i'm trying to make, what i'm trying to argue is that wolves aren't somehow better then other animals. And that killing a wolf is no different than killing any other animal.

Winter-on-Mars In reply to toyotomo [2014-04-16 22:40:59 +0000 UTC]

Who said anything about wolves being better than other animals? That has nothing to do with the stamp. And im sure you think humans are somehow better than other animals so thats pretty hypocritical.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

toyotomo In reply to Winter-on-Mars [2014-04-16 23:36:46 +0000 UTC]

because from reading other comments you come off as the type who see's wolves as the best. And how is it hypocritical to say humans are better than all other animals on the planet

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Winter-on-Mars In reply to toyotomo [2014-04-17 09:45:42 +0000 UTC]

They are personally one of my favorite animals, but there is no such thing as one soecies being 'the best' or better than any other species, unless its aimed at a specific area they could be better in. That's all an opinion. And I never said wolves deserve to live more, im just saying I personally like them more than many other animals.
Its hypocritical if you say its wrong to think wolves are the best, but its okay to think humans are the best.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

toyotomo In reply to Winter-on-Mars [2014-04-18 05:27:38 +0000 UTC]

why is it hypocritical, what have wolves done that could possible measure up to what we humans have accomplished

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Winter-on-Mars In reply to toyotomo [2014-04-18 09:26:01 +0000 UTC]

I just explained why it is hypocritical.  You mean things like the holocaust, nuclear weapons, war, torture, murder ect? Yeah we've been to the moon and have done some other cool things but we have done things with more negative impacts than positive impacts. Besides, why does accomplishing things make you more deserving to live?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

toyotomo In reply to Winter-on-Mars [2014-04-18 17:58:27 +0000 UTC]

animals engage in torture and what could be conisdered murder. The fact that humans can accomplish so much means i'm more deserving to live because i just like all other humans. have the potential to do thos good things. And the positive far outways the negative. I know this to be true because if it didn't then we humans would have a pretty damn low population.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Winter-on-Mars In reply to toyotomo [2014-04-18 20:35:02 +0000 UTC]

They kill for survival, hardly ever for anything else. What torture do they do? What good things have you the potential to do? The positive does not out weigh the negative, nor does it out number it. Reporduction and population has nothing to do with the good or bad we do. What good thing have we done that out weighs the horrors of the holocaust?  Most of humanity has does nothing amazing. I have done nothing amazing with my life, and im sure you haven't eaither. Is the majority of humanity less deserving to live then say, Stephen hawking or Neil Armstrong?

Man is the most intelligent being on earth, with religious views, morals, and meaningful thoughts. Us humans no its wrong to go and kill a pregnant doe or a whole herd of deer without eating or taking any of it. You can't call an animal evil when it doesn't know it's doing wrong, it's just being natural and chasing and killing. Wolves probably don't have morals, if they did, they would be nothing like humans. I always thought it was wrong to judge an animal by human morals.

Wolves actually do very little surplus killing... one study showed that many deer carcasses and though to be abandoned by wolves were actually revisited many, many times until it was finished off. L David Mech, the leading Wolf biologist, over a span of weeks, found "abandoned" "wasted" carcasses with signs of wolf tracks and fresh droppings.
Wolves can eat up too 20 lbs of food in one sitting, and the typical pack size is around... 14. A good sized cow elk weighs 440 pounds. A pack of 14 wolves can not possibly finish their meal in one sitting (with smaller prey like white-tailed deer they almost always cache leftovers or eat everything). Wolves go off and digest their meal, sometimes coming back for more, and other times move off to take care of their territory, which, without the proper maintenance, will almost surely be invaded.
Wolves stash ("cache") leftover food, sometimes going to great lengths (occasionally even burying whole calf carcasses) to protect their kill from things like bears, coyites, sometimes, and foxes.
L. David mech also noted wolves eating year-old caches and digging up frozen carcasses.

None of this means wolves don't EVER waste food, they do sometimes, just like any other animal.

but don't you agree that people who view the wolf as the ultimate animal that can do no harm, and who straight up worship wolves are taking things way too far

The-Grey-Dhole In reply to toyotomo [2014-04-13 01:53:25 +0000 UTC]

I don't think any animal is in any way better than another animal (people can have opinions of coarse! You can like a wolf more than a badger or a badger better than a wolf, but it's just because of you. A badger is not better than a wolf, a wolf is not better than badger) and saying otherwise is like saying only your opinion matters. It's sad when people worship one animal and hate another
