Cool guns like the details on the bolt action part. I wonder how those crystals work.

Well from the commissioner info, the crystal is stuck by the hammer through a firing pin, which creates a shock that makes the crystal emit high-energy beams that is refracted and focused into a more intense beam by the reflective lined barrel.
