i almost cried
for some reason i was too busy focused on people saying the ending sucked to cry the first time
it was really distracting :/

I cried half because I was sad, but also half because of what happened a bit earlier. Based on the choices I made, I was able to put a bullet straight through the centre of the Illusive Man's head, dead centre, right between the eyes. I was crying from the satisfaction I felt from being able to do that, I HATED that guy, nothing felt better then ending him.

Honestly, I finished ME3 before most of the rest of the internet did, and although I got frustrated in a few places and (similar to Portal 2) it took me longer then it normally would have to complete certain parts as I couldn't look up how to do it online. My opinion of the game and it's ending is 100% unaffected by everyone else. And here's what I thought about the ending:

Truthfully I didn't find it all that bad, sure the VERY ending could have been done better, the cutscenes were essentially the same and all that jazz, but who cares, I chose the end where I destroyed the Reapers (partly in memory of Anderson I might add) and that was the true end of the trilogy for me. Due to my extremely unique amalgamation of choices throughout all 3 games, and my ability to get extremely drawn into my character, that was the greatest ending I could have possibly asked for. I sacrificed myself so that the Galaxy can no longer live in fear of the Reapers. The clincher for me was the epilogue where the old man made mention of 'the Sheppard'.

The Bottom line is, I guess, I made hundreds of mistakes in the trilogy, only 5 of my squad made it back from the suicide mission, and over 40 names were on the plague commemorating those lost due to my decisions, but those were MY decisions. No matter what mistakes I made I always stuck with it and never 'reloaded from a previous save' as every one of my friends that played the game as well did to 'get better results'. Sun Sheppard was MY Sheppard, and when I sacrificed her at the end, I was sacrificing myself along with her. I've only played the trilogy once because that's how real life works, you're one person, making decisions in your life to have things happen as best as you can make them, no do-overs, and at the end you look back and say, "Now THAT was a good life, glad I was there."

THAT'S why I won't do another play-through, and THAT'S the reason I'm probably the only person you'll ever meet that truly enjoyed the ending. And finally, the reason I'm telling you all this is in the hopes that I can get someone else to respect the game in the same way that I do.

I like that
yeah i chose destroy also because i felt like "i came here to destroy the reapers, i'm going to destroy the reapers. Even if it kills me." and then my shep didn't die and i was like elaskjglkjdd
I mean, if anything, the first time i saw the ending i was really confused and then i was extremely depressed. I thought they'd be stuck on that planet forever, i thought nobody would make it back home (i didn't take into account that most ships still had FTL flight)
it was a really sad ending for me the first time
then the extended cut happened
and i was like "YAAAAY"
