Description A european red fox, for my trade with I think he looks great in his realistic style, after an aborted try and a lot of effort! I like the look of him, and I think he turned out great.

He's bigger than most of mine, probably larger than the average cat, and he has no skeleton since my wires are too small to support him. He stands well by himself! He was made of faux fur, fabric markers and safety eyes!

This was a trade with the person listed above,ย

However I'd be willing to make another or something similar for 200 USD +10/15 dollars shipping (depending on whether you are in the US). It would be about 12 inches long not including the tail.

I love your work. The tail on this cutie is perfect. It looks amazingly real. The fabric on the hips...it may just be the lighting, but the poor fox looks like his rear is bare at a glance and I thought that was blood near the brown fabric of his legs. Other than that detail, I love everything else about this. Great job! ^^

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

WolfknightlordJ In reply to Lupineleigh [2012-11-16 23:53:58 +0000 UTC]

The two fabrics were sent along with the trade--err. Some foxes have much lighter rear-halves.. I have no idea why it ended up looking red with the flash, it's actually brown, and it was some effort to shade it.

Just a quick question, do fabric markers smear off onto clothing or make what you draw on stink? I need a way to color fur without ruining it

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

WolfknightlordJ In reply to Takato14 [2012-07-25 17:13:19 +0000 UTC]

There is a smell right after putting it on, but it goes away quickly. Most of them don't smear because of their paint-like consistency, though Copics can be smeary if they aren't aired out long enough.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Takato14 In reply to WolfknightlordJ [2012-07-26 02:05:51 +0000 UTC]

Oh, okay. Is there a brand you would recommend?

Another thing, does the fur clot up at all or lose softness? I'm gonna be making a very large dragon to use as a body pillow, and he needs to be soft. Likewise, since he's gonna be so large, I'm gonna need to color a huge area of fabric. He'll be 7 feet long, and his entire back needs to be red, so do you think I would need 3 or 4 markers to do the job? Maybe more?

Thanks for the help, I'll send you pictures when he's done if you'd like :3

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

WolfknightlordJ In reply to Takato14 [2012-07-26 02:28:12 +0000 UTC]

If you use fabric paint markers the fur is less soft. If you use Copics the fur stays soft and you could probably blow-dry it to bind it. I would just buy red fur, but if you're looking for specific markings I'd say you need about 5-6 markers.

WolfknightlordJ In reply to redtail215 [2012-07-05 17:35:53 +0000 UTC]

I have set prices for my commissions and pricing starts at 100 dollars. I price based on complexity and I donate about 1/2 of the result to wildlife charities. If I kept all the proceeds for myself I could have lower prices, but I wouldn't consider making commissions worthwhile if I did that.

Is the body head and tail all one piece? I love how realistic this looks and I would love to make my own.

WolfknightlordJ In reply to MorganAndMarlee [2012-04-01 20:05:39 +0000 UTC]

One piece? I don't know if I understand.

They are all composed of several pieces that I sewed together to make this animal.
