Description Realistic Iberian Wolf, or a subspecies of Gray Wolves from Spain. There is currently a population of about 1,000 of them living in the mountainous regions. These wolves are known for their distinct reddish colorations, and are fairly small for wolves.

This one comes with realistic skinniness!

I have since improved this plush, it is HERE: [link]

You're welcome! That was one of the reasons that I disliked Alpha and Omega, because they made wolves look all cute and cuddly.... XP

This is amazing! Where did you get the materials? Would you be willing to share the pattern you used?

WolfknightlordJ In reply to Ydera [2011-02-08 13:40:07 +0000 UTC]

I don't generally share patterns, but this was made so long ago, I don't have it anyways. I'm remaking it's face sometime soon, since I don't like it being lop-eyed.

Materials came from a local fabric store, but I'd recommend using dense luxury-quality 1' fabrics. I now buy from [link] and I'm Stuffed fur.

Odd that people don't like my melanistic wolves as much as these guys. XD.

wow what a preety species amusing how stupid wolflabos cant support this one breed of wolf :shakes head:

WolfknightlordJ In reply to Aberash-Tigeress [2010-09-14 21:29:55 +0000 UTC]

lol, I like wolves a lot, but I like just about any canid, my least favorite probably being red foxes.

I like learning about them, so I've spent some quality time with David Mech and Barry Lopez.

Though Iberian wolves are rare, I think that an entirely different species, the Himalayan wolf need the most help right now. (A newly "discovered" and unprotected species)

Aberash-Tigeress In reply to WolfknightlordJ [2010-09-15 01:32:23 +0000 UTC]

sighs I still like wolves even tho I really wish the other animals need more support. I dont blame ya on red foxes silver fox is better also [link] is neat breed of rabbit that ha same coat pattern they are on critical agriculture list tho. who is david mech and barry lopez?I need to look up the himalyain wolf
also I love your pulshie one day might comisson you for one

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WolfknightlordJ In reply to Aberash-Tigeress [2010-09-15 02:28:17 +0000 UTC]

David R. Mech wrote the bible on wolf ecology and biology and behavior. Barry Lopez wrote Of Wolves and Men. They are both authorities on wolf behavior, and the history of human interactions with the animals.

I do think that other animals need support, but that doesn't stop me from being partial to wolves because they are interesting XD. I also really like elephants, whales, predatory birds, and alligators.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aberash-Tigeress In reply to WolfknightlordJ [2010-09-15 03:03:56 +0000 UTC]

I love alligators, predatory birds are amazing exsepcally owls, and cats.I believe that criticaly endangred wolves need help it just retarded wolflabos that irriate me by beliveve that gray wolf is on the endangred list they are not. I guess I am kinda the same the popularity killed my intrest in wolves but I will always love werewolves and wolves . I will try to draw some of rare ones if you could tell me more about those I would aperciate it.

I need to look upthose people sounds intresting . exzspecially wolves and men I believe that has something to do with werewolves correct? reason being werewolf mythology is intresting.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WolfknightlordJ In reply to Aberash-Tigeress [2010-09-15 03:15:22 +0000 UTC]

I don't think popularity could kill my anything, though wolves in Europe and in the US are on the endangered species list technically, they aren't an endangered species. The endangered wolf SPECIES as it stands, are red wolves, Himalayan wolves, and Ethiopian wolves, though there are many subspecies that are in critical danger of extinction.

Of Wolves and Men doesn't have to do with werewolves, it concerns the War on Wolves, during the 20's when wolves were wiped out of the Americas, and why it happened, and how. XD

Aberash-Tigeress In reply to WolfknightlordJ [2010-09-16 21:47:00 +0000 UTC]

Popularity is one of reason I tend to chenge subject right now I cant stop drawing rabbit cause I am going to be raising one soon and I am excited. turth is it depresses me when people don't reallize witch animal they are supporting isnt endangered yet they obseess over it and other animals who despratly need the help get no support.
thanks for info when I have free time I am defiantly going to attempt to draw those wolves.

I just thought that because in were wolf era people were techanicaly fighting against wolves. I might read that sounds intresting.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WolfknightlordJ In reply to Aberash-Tigeress [2010-09-17 03:04:19 +0000 UTC]

It's true, but at least they are getting behind a previously unpopular animal, and it draws more attention to other "unpopular" and generally "uncharismatic" wildlife.

Very few people besides the internet like wolves and foxes anyways. Most people positively hate them, so I don't see any need to change what I like. I meet enough resistance in real life, in the country I live in that has them XDD.

Aberash-Tigeress In reply to WolfknightlordJ [2010-09-17 21:26:02 +0000 UTC]

I am not saying you should(It would honestly saden me if you stoped likeing your favorite animal). I have always been more of cat person anyway I just went through a retarted phase. I still like canine and I love wolves and foxes I know if I hated em I would of thrown away my wolf shirt and stoped drawing canines and wolf creatures . I am just sick and tired of same thing on da. every once in a while I find some one with nice wolf style but then there are artist that have copyed styles that annoy me and sparkle dogs :shudres: soo ugly and yet everyone think they are being orignale by giving un complementry colors to their're charters sighs. I am okay with cople unatural colorbut sometimes I think people go overboard.
I only hate wolflabos that all .
what you are saying is true

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WolfknightlordJ In reply to Aberash-Tigeress [2010-09-17 23:20:24 +0000 UTC]

Lol, I always have been a dog person, but I honestly like all animals, and liking wolves inspired me to learn more about other animals in the canine family, which never drew my attention before because they are (generally speaking) small and drab, and that took my attention away from how fascinating and different they all are. I only wish we knew more about them in the wild, like we (more now) do with wolves. I find it particularly fascinating that most of what we knew about them from captive studies is wrong, because they act very differently in the wild due to dispersal, the nature of pack formation, and the fluidity of packs dissolving, coming together, the incredible intricacy of their courtships in the wild, and and so much more that is incredibly interesting.

LOL, I hate the sparkle dogs too. I wish people would make animals more natural colors, since they have so much natural variety in their appearances, but it's generally fairly subtle. XD.

amimal packs are facenating and I agree.learning about wolves and wolf packs is what made me love wolves. feline are neat too when you look at all of they're many diffrent cats . some are really cute and rare. I love looking at cat books and just seeing em all(now I m going to look for dog book).

I agree on natural colorthung. thats why my fursona only unatrul color is red gem on her head. I haven't posted her pic thought and my icon is out dated. unfornatly media is now creating sparkle wolves(alfa and omega )

I know a good book you might like it has tons of wolf refrence pictures and it has info too. It is called the art of being a wolf [link] I own the book and I love the photos. unfortanly I used it for a project so its falling apart.

I have that book, and many others XD. I liked the black and white portrait series, and the Wolves of the Rainforest book, which is actual wild wolves (most photos taken of wild animals are from captive animals, but these animals are not.)
