Description Ok decided to test one more thing I wanted for a while. It’s a remake of old: [link] on a new AS3 and my Meatballs engine with new twists

Ok there are following controls:
Roll mouse over a blob to see how many free connections it has.
Click blob to drag it.
Use Count box to change amount of balls.
Use Stick box to change blob effect.
Dist1 is distance on which connections brake.
Dist2 is distance on which balls collide and on which connections are made.
Gravity is (that’s hard one) for gravity
Conn is maximal amount of connections that is allowed for particles. Set 1 for pairs. Set 2 for chains. Set more for more complex structures.

Enjoy.

I have created a nano-engineered particle. If you put the settings on normal, but 2 "conn", take four. Put them make a square or diamond out of it. Then put it in the corner, and through force, push one particle through to make an hourglass shape. It's a motor. It spins due to repultion force against it self. You can do the same with a pentagon shape, you can make a spinning fish.

Hehe I did know about this feature, but I never understood it, I mean those internal powers should be in equilibrium, why it spins? But it is a funny thing that it is possible, they also spin in only one direction for some reason...

Okay, in a sample of 10, 5 each. All clockwise broke into 3 and 1. All counter-clockwise stayed a chain of 4 or became just a square.

You mean that they rotate so much that they kind of throw out one of the balls ans stabilize?

After simple study, I have found that if you can start a rotation, it keeps it. It seems so far, all (2) of the clockwise broke into a 3 and 1, the only counter clockwise kept a square shape. I shall study this more.

Another thing you must add: 1 or 2 other types, like have different "elements" They have different bonding distances, and different amount of connections. Since the bond distances may interfere/contradict, say you have 11 and 17, have the program average it (to 14). If two 17's bond it's 17. Two 11's it's 11, one of each... 14 bond.

Keep up the great work

Thanks.
As for libs. I do share code some time and few times did some libs but I don't know... Needs some work on making some homepages for them (may be just making google code or sourceforge project) with tutorials, sharing and commenting code etc... Plus it is not really that incentive for me. I am having fun making this stuff. Refactoring, documenting, commenting code, spending time making it available is not fun... Sometimes I do want to get useful but I do not go any further then sharing some code usually.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Yet, you can just allow for simple functionality, not necessarily be all what is possible.
I tried making a simple one. Have a look: [link] (=

Ok I will. BTW if you want some code you can ask. I can advice some place where you can find it or something similar or try to share some. Depends on works tough. Some that are new and unique I may not want to share at the moment.

guzu In reply to wonderwhy-ER [2009-12-25 16:27:10 +0000 UTC]

The collision part is amazing. But, whatever possible is good. When I get it, I'll try to convert it to an easy to use tool for my future self

wonderwhy-ER In reply to guzu [2009-12-25 17:07:51 +0000 UTC]

I see. Heh usually I find my self locked in a stupid situation If I am sharing I need to share with all and not just some. And if I share like that I need it to be clean and easy to understand And my messy stuff I do for fun is not clean and easy to understand...

I think I may be can make a tutorial or something on how bloby effect is made. As for collisions I think you can find plenty around the net... That part is quite messy in those works
