Description

The transport trundled into the Repair Ward entrance, the synths on it huddled together. The pair of doors separating the entrance from the entrance of the repair ward slid closed, and two scanners slid around the occupants, checking them into the repair ward. Almost immediately, a set of robotic arms appeared, snatching the two E.v.e.s, and carrying them off towards the diagnostics room with little struggle. As they were being carried there, E.v.e. AX 001 looked over her shoulder, and gave the two Wall.es a hand signal. Wall.e 181838 nodded and gave her a hand signal in turn, and E.v.e. AX 001 smiled. Wall.e 181835 had no clue what the hand signals meant- it simply looked as if E.v.e. AX 001 had been throwing an invisible spear, and Wall.e 181838 waving an imaginary person through an imaginary toll. GO-4 was collected next. He had a "defective boot" slapped on him, and got shut down, before being carried to a cell at the far end of the lobby. The two Wall.es were collected last, being picked up by the robotic arms and being transported to cells close to the frosted glass doors seperating the diagnostics room from the lobby. The transport left, and a set ofย  semi-transparent double doors closed on the inside of the repair ward entrance, separating it from the lobby.

In her cell, Wall.e 181838 immediately began looking around at the various malfunctioning cyborgs and robots around her, silently counting up a total number of soon to be "rogue robots." Occasionally, she glanced at the doors, waiting for a hand signal. In the cell next to her, Wall.e 181835 also started assessing the other cyborgs and robots, albeit because he was nervous. How Wall.e 181838 was managing to keep calm in this rather disturbing environment he had no clue. A series of screams started up, right as the two E.v.e. probes were starting to undergo their set of diagnostics. Wall.e 181835 shrank to the far side of his cell, his lenses riveted on the doors in fear. He started shaking when robotic arms the seemingly impaled them and made their heart cores flash and pulse rapidly. Wall.e 181838 ignored him- she was now making a list of specific cyborgs that might come in handy. She counted three L-Ts which had various lightbulb malfunctions and settled on the one that couldn't turn its lightbulb all the way off. She grinned and figured that that one might be able to temporarily blind the SECUR-Ts by flashing its lightbulb at maximum power. Wall.e 181835 suddenly shrank towards Wall.e 181838 when something on the other side of the barrier between his cell and the next sneezed loudly, spraying a cloud of dust into the central aisle. Wall.e 181838's head turned and she grinned- she knew from experience that a VAQ-M with that specific malfunction could create an effective smokescreen. The screaming briefly stopped, and Wall.e 181835 seemed to relax, until it started again. Behind the frosted glass doors, the robotic arms were now seemingly cracking their heads open and pulling something out of each probes gaping maw, a sight which was made even more frightening by the fact that their maws seemed to have a second pair of jaws inside of it. Wall.e 181835 now shrunk to the back of his cell, his teeth now chattering uncontrollably as a fresh bout of frightened shaking began. Wall.e 181838 now noticed a SAUT-A and a HAN-S with restrained arms, and grinned. Those two could decimate entire squadrons of SECUR-Ts if only they had their restraints removed. She then noticed a D-FIB that was repeatedly shocking- and setting fire to- the bottom of its cell, forcing a pair of robotic arms to remain on hand with a fire extinguisher, putting out the blazes and accidentally clouding up much of the lobby with fire extinguisher propellant. As a set of vents turned on and automatically flushed the latest cloud of propellant, Wall.e 181838 mentally added the D-FIB to the list of SECUR-T killers... which could come in handy if it turned out that the Columbias Autopilot had made more SECUR-Ts in the wake of the Axioms Autopilot being shut down. Wall.e 181835 curled up into a small ball and shook more intensely with the third round of screams emanating form behind the frosted glass doors. Wall.e 181838 squinted at the doors and was just able to make out a screaming BRL-A with an overextended frill. She guessed that it, along with a malfunctioning PR-T, would be able to block the SECUR-Ts suspension beams with their frill and mirror respectively. Wall.e 181835 looked up at exactly the wrong time- the PR-T suddenly shot into his cell and began slapping makeup on his helmet, yelling, "JUST A TRIM?!? A TRIM?!? A TRIM?!? YOU LOOK GORGEOUS!!!" As the robotic arms bundled the malfunctioning PR-T back into its cell, Wall.e 181838 shook her head in amusement and started searching her pockets for a handkerchief. Wall.e 181835 screamed and frenetically tried to wipe the makeup off his helmet. He got the makeup off before Wall.e 181838 found the handkerchief and so she instead used it to blow her nose. Inside the diagnostic room, BRL-A began screaming again.

Inside the diagnostics room, the two E.v.e.s paitiently waited for the battery of cybernetics tests to end. E.v.e. AX 001 was actively keeping track of the tests that were being run on her. So far, diagnostics had been run on the functionality of her heart core and her cybernetic eye. She watched the robotic arms return carrying her cybernetic eye and her brothers, and briefly reflected on how Buy N Large had managed to pack so many functions into that specific cybernetic. Two other robotic arms appeared and grasped at her eyelids, holding them open while the cybernetic eye was shoved back into its socket. She blinked and shook her head- she had undergone this test several hundred times and still wasn't used to the feeling of having her cybernetic eye removed from or returned to its socket. She then felt the familiar feeling of having her helmet tugged off her. This meant that her arm cannon would be the next part to be removed and tested- and she would give her signal when the arm cannon was returned. She briefly glanced at the diagnostic station next to hers. Her brother seemed more or less to be taking his cybernetics tests with a degree of annoyance, completely oblivious to what she was going to do. Her helmet was returned, and a robotic arm stabbed a syringe into her neck, and pinched the syringe, injecting an artificial Downpour Fever Treatment into her body. She guessed that it had been adapted from the treatment that had been concocted onboard the Axiom shortly before its own, accidental Bedlam breakout. The plasma cannon greave was pulled off her right arm, and E.v.e. silently began to count down to staging a breakout.

In the lobby, Wall.e 181835 watched the robotic arms seemingly wrenching the plasma cannon arms off of the E.v.e. probes and couldn't take the fear any more. He panicked, and started firing his laser at the holographic barrier at the front of his cell, causing it to short out, flicker, and disappear. He then tumbled out of his cell and into the middle of the aisle. Wall.e 181838, thinking fast, fired her own laser at the barrier on front of her cell, and dove out of it, and into a roll- a trick which she had picked up from her girlfriend. As she rolled, Wall.e 181838 deliberately punched "play" on her music player while managing to make it look like an accident. "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" blared at full volume, catching the attention of all of the malfunctioning cyborgs and robots in the lobby. She glanced at the double doors, and noticing that there was a control panel on either side, grabbed Wall.e 181835 and pulled him into a charge- straight at the doors seperating the lobby from the diagnostic room. Both E.v.e.s broke out of their diagnostic stations as the two Wall.es busted through the doors, and the robotic arms carrying the plasma cannons returned. Two robotic arms carrying syringes sped out into the diagnostics room, accidentally injecting the Downpour Fever Cure into the Wall.es instead of the intended sedative, as the two Wall.es yanked their partners plasma cannons out of the claws of the robotic arms carrying them. Wall.e 181835 hissed at the robotic arms and tried to threaten them with E.v.e. CL 001's plasma cannon, but accidentally pointed it backwards. This was what Wall.e 181838 and E.v.e. AX 001 were counting on. Both Wall.es fired the plasma cannons at the same time, one shooting a control panel by accident, the other deliberately shooting the control panel. The barriers all failed at once, as predicted, and the two E.v.e.s both snarled, "WALL.E!" at the same time, one of them secretly flashing her Wall.e a wink to signal that she was bluffing. In the very next breath, the rogues were upon them.

This time, all four synths were snatched up by mistake as the flock started to surge towards the doors, which were now blasted open with the tremendous force of multiple plasma cannons and fireballs exploding against them. The flock surged out of the repair ward, straight up trampling the outer set of doors beyond repair as the "Rogue Robot" alarms began to wail. The flock surged down the corridors, erratically changing direction and leaving a trail of traffic snakes, multi-bot crashes, and disrupted streams of traffic in their wake. They collectively slowed to a stop in front of a blockade of SECUR-Ts, this one containing twice as many as the Axioms blockade, and dumped both Wall.es and both E.v.e.s in front of them. A second after they stopped, the SECUR-Ts collectively droned, "HALT!" Some of the rogues then shoved the four cyborgs closer to the blockade. E.v.e. CL 001, clearly frustrated by this predicament, stood up and roughly grabbed his plasma cannon from Wall.e 181835, shoving it back onto his arm as the SECUR-Ts camera eyes flashed. At the same time, Wall.e 181838 shoved the plasma cannon back onto E.v.e. Ax 001's arm, and the two E.v.e.s scooped up their partners and launched themselves into the air at the same time. The SECUR-Ts fired their supension beams a second too late, and the rogues scattered in all directions, this time giving each other a flurry of hand and wing signals as they scattered. The confused SECUR-Ts gave into their instincts as their prey fled and dispersed all over the ship.

E.v.e. AX 001 took the lead, randomly jinking, changing direction, and changing the height she was flying at in an effort to actively get rid of any SECUR-Ts that might even try to pursue them, and E.v.e CL 001, now as confused and curious as frustrated, followed her lead. Sure enough, a few SECUR-Ts tried to chase them. All of them were thrown off by the E.v.e. Probes erratic flight, and they shook them off one by one in a half aerial, half grounded dance macabre. They braked and the first SECUR-T pounced right past them, crashing into an incoming flock of robots and causing a multi-bot jam which briefly distracted the rest. They barrel rolled in opposite directions when the second SECUR-T pounced, and that SECUR-T accidentally pounced into a trash chute, getting itself briefly stuck between the rim of the flap and the tube before accidentally falling in completely. They then dodged in between the third and fourth SECUR-Ts when they pounced, again causing multi-bot pileups. This time, they ran into the Night Lights, who mistook the evasive actions for a game, and provoked the SECUR-Ts into chasing them by peppering them with a hail of hatchling sized plasma blasts and then flying away laughing. The four synths broke down laughing as a series of frenzied "HALT!"s echoed down the hallway, followed by an even louder crash. They then took off again, jinxing the last of their pursuers by diving into a cubby hole as it pounced. The SECUR-T screamed and crashed into a disused coat closet, getting itself trapped inside of it. Shortly before this happened, Wall.e 181838 pointed out the escape pods, and said, "Plant!", baffling Wall.e 181835 and E.v.e. CL 001. E.v.e. AX 001 nodded at her in understanding, further baffling their male counterparts. E.v.e. CL 001 then curtly said, "Earth!", and E.v.e. AX 001 equally curtly responded, "No. Plant!" The two Wall.es both grinned at each other, mutually embarrassed, as the two E.v.e.s roared at each other- as if they were arguing. The argument continued all the way to the elevator.
