Gaara doing that Tetsuo thing from Akira. The similaries between the two of them is just uncanny. Gaara is the perfect vessel for releasing all the weird shit that churns around in my head.
Started off as a colour doodle, but I kept poking at it until it turned into something more refined.
Painter 6, approx 5 hours.

Ah yes, I seem to remember hearing that certain aspects of Gaara were based off Tetsuo.

I know it's kinda late to say something now but this is... well I guess awesome. When Gaara went through his thing and half of him turned into the demon Akira was what I thought of. I love the colors too as young as that sounds haha.

Uhh...Actually first of all, Tetsuo the human was the overpowered psychokinetic 15 year old biker gang member who turned into the blob thing you see near the end film, and Akira only appeard for a minute near the end of the film. Also there was no person or character in the movie who was big or are you thinking of another film?

Wow, funny-- There were these little figures of Gaara at a con, where Gaarra was looking all pissed and was using his sand technique to make a giant arm/claw/thingy over his real arm, and when I saw them, I was like, "Holy Crap! It's Gaarra-Tetsuo!"
