He's watching something really really engaging on tv.Another tablet drawing, now featuring Shikamaru, the super lazy genius nin. I just started some random doodling and it turned into this picture. No references, I love it when that happens.
Once again no nice colours either. I've come to realise that my drawing skills aren't up to par with my colouring skills, and the reason why is because of the way I normally work; I probably spend an hour on a drawing, then something like 4 hours just to colour that drawing. :/ As a result sometimes I try to use my colouring to cover up mistakes made in the drawing. Not good.
Anyway, not having to slave away for hours at colours is quite a liberating feeling. Can get more new things drawn that way too. ^__^

How cool ^_^ Green green, mono-color-ish. The shadow's cool looking, and he looks kinda like "grrr", like he's not quite enjoying whatever he's watching.

I much prefer coloring and spend more time on it than the drawing, as well.
Anywho, hes a very unique character and you depicted him well, especially being as you had no reference. Great work as usual. The only true crit I could give ( if you were wanting any ) is the bottom of the foot that is resting on the knee. But it could just be me.

Goddamn it. I am NOT going to +fav your entire gallery, no matter how many things you post to tempt me.
I am really digging your monochrome series, and I don't think your drawing ability is in any way inferior to your coloring. In fact, it was your draftsmanship that first attracted me to your gallery. Don't get me wrong, I adore the way you color! It's just, you know, have some faith in yourself. Or something.
I'm so glad that Sasuke chasing arc is over. We finally get to see the other nin again.

Awesome perspective! You actually manage to pull it off and make it work for you.. my perspective drawing is so bad. >: Liked the way you draw feet, the couch, his expression and the most of all, his eating chips. Reminds me of Chouji and the current manga arc. *sniffles*

You can't spend that much time around Chouji and not pick up a taste for chips, I wager. It looks like Shikamaru's watching his mother chew out his dad or something. Who needs horror flicks when you have 'Nara-zilla' rampaging through your house? Even Ino never seems to worry him that much. XD
I really like the perspective in all this and the addition of the bag of chips is a charming detail. Shikamaru, for once, doesn't look all limp and passive. Really makes you wonder what's going on 'off camera'.

If the remote went missing, I think that'd be the most boring night of television ever. Both Shikamaru and his father would settle for watching whatever was on or in Shikamaru's case, just napping. They'd find merit in it somehow. In that it was less bothersome than actually searching for the remote.
The scary thing would be if Nara-zilla wanted to watch something XD Then Shikatou would become the remote ....or else.

Love the detail in his feet, and his pose looks very natural for him. He looks a little hunched over, but then again, those vest's give that effect on all the Ninjas. Again the colours are great! ... I bet he stole those chips from Chouji's stash

You know... You see TVs all over the place in the manga, but don't actually see anyone watching TV... Very strange. It's a very good Shikamaru, my favorite character simply because I'm most like him. I like your colors though, or the relative lack of them. It makes for a great look. And you drew Shikamaru well, relaxed like the lazy bum he is! He only needs Choji sitting next to him...

LMAO! oh shit this is awesome! His expression is indeed a priceless one. I wonder what he could be watching. ^^ And about drawing versus coloring.. i feel that way too. It's like people always say nice coloring.. but they never say nothing about the lineart! Maybe it's because colors are like.. ooo pretty. XD And lineart is just secondary. ^^ I wouldn't think it was bad that you're correcting the lineart through coloring. Because your artwork always ends up in being something damn awesome. ^^
.. although I certainly feel like i don't sketch as i used to when i didn't have a comp to cg. so sad huh? ^^
