Angela grumbled as she fiddled with the TV Remote. She hadn't had much of a chance to rest and catch up on any shows since the big shift, which was unfortunate given the extra 666 channels that being part of the Lesser Underborough area offers. She was trying to pull up the UBO Fantasy series, 'Reign of Crones,' a Adventure-Thriller following the exploits of five covens as they try to steal the Cold-Iron Cauldron and rule the land. It's ALL the students at Underborough High can talk about, and Angela was tired of getting left out. However, despite her innocent intentions, the show was getting blocked by the Parental Lock on the cable box.
"Ugh, I deal with fighting monsters and narrowly escape getting killed every other day, I think I can handle whatever this show has to offer," Again, she hadn't seen the show and only knew about it through hearsay around school. She wasn't aware of the more naughty bits or the full-frontal natural that occasionally came up every episode. "Hmm, well... I'm not about to miss this show... Maybe if I use just a little magic..." Angela spoke softly as a glow began to encase the cable box.

Rosemary got home, sighing as she set down the groceries on the kitchen counter. "There, that should last us... a few..." with the bags no longer blocking her view, Rosemary became aware of the odd look of her kitchen. Every appliance had been replaced with an old, retro version of itself, and the decor looked like it was straight out of a Better Homes and Gardens magazine from the 1950s. However, that wasn't the weirdest part of the situation. No, what was weirdest, was how everything was in Monochrome, just shades of gray. Something was wrong here, she had to-

"Oh Rosie!" A sweet gentle voice came from the doorway. A woman minced in, her dark gray pumps clicking against the fresh linoleum on the floor, "I am pleased as punch! You got home just in time to help mommy out," the woman spoke with such familiarity that it took Rosemary a moment for her to register what was being said.

"Wh-what... Who are you?" Rosemary asked, gathering her focus again.

"Oh, now now, darling," the woman chided, wagging her finger, "No time to play pretend, we have to get these cookies finished fast if we're going to make it for the Bake Sale!" She moved gracefully to the old oven and cracked it open, the smell of chocolate chips slipped into the air. "Oh my, they're almost ready! Now I'll just need my special little helper to finish icing them while Mommy puts in the next batch," she purred, looking at Rosemary.

"I'm not kidding who are-" Rosemary started, but caught herself and lightly coughed. Her voice sounded so high, like... like a child's! She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts, but another change became evident. Her long wavy locks had been reduced to a short bob. She moved her gloved hands up to feel it... wait, gloves? What was going on!? She watched in shock as the world seemed to grow around her, or rather she began to shrink. Her sweater and knee length skirt swirled and merged, forming a kid's little dress. This was just a kick in the pants! No, this was bad... she shook her head. "This is all wrong..." Rose mumbled as she felt a ribbon tie back her hair.

"Oh sweetie, I know you had your heart on pie, but there just wasn't enough time," the woman gentle pet Rosie's hair, "Maybe we can do it this weekend, you know how much Papa loves his loganberry pies!" She smiled, giving off a smell laugh. A familiar laugh. Rosemary's eyes widened with realization,

"Angela?" She gasped at the gray woman. It was hard to tell without color, not to mention how much she had changed, but there were a few hints of her daughter in the woman's appearance. "What... what happened to-"

"Now Rosie," Angela tapped the younger girl's head, "A young lady should never call a parent by their first name," her finger glowed.

"Sorry mama, I don't know what-" Rosemary's eyes widened as her hand leapt to her mouth. What was she saying? And... And what happened to her gloves? They seemed off, like a powdery white rather than the... OH NO! She looked at her legs and saw they had turned a soft gray like her mother's... like Angela's! She had to stop it, she looked up as Angela's finger continued to glow. She had to... the gray tones spread higher, draining the red from her dress. Those cookies sure smelled yummy. And icing was the best because she got to eat what was left over. No!! No, she had to stay focused... cookies were out of the oven... She had to fix this and... and...

Rosie smiled, her light gray cheeks dimpled as she hopped up on her kitchen stool, "Oh golly mama, these sure do look good!" She mewed excitedly. "May I have one?"

"No darling," Angela chuckled putting the next tray in the oven.

"Mrrrkay," Rosie spoke oddly. Angela turned to find Rosie with two cookies in hand, both with a sizable bite out of each.

"Gadzooks, Rosie! What did I just say?" Angela put her hands on her hips.

"What? You said I couldn't have ONE," Rosie said taking another bite, "You didn't say anything about TWO," She smiled cutely.

There was a pause as the sound of an audience laughing echoed on the set.
