Description
My first concept for a potential Alien King. Very satisfied with the outcome, but I can't come to a consensus if it's too resemblant of a queen or not. I'll let xeno nerds have a say on that.Related content

It's a wonderful, detailed drawing. But I'm pretty sure there no such things as Kings among Giger aliens. The species follows the model of an ant colony: one Queen per nest, and the only males (if they even exist; these things reproduce strangely) are mere drones and breeding stock.

I don't study insect species, and I don't doubt anything you said. But I do remember kings being present in the Aliens: Rouge comic series.

Yes there are Xenomorph kings! Even ants has a male representative thing... I call it an Ant king, because that is pretty much what it is. But the Xenomorph king is not the big boss in the hive. I actually don't really know why he is at all! Even though I like your picture it doesnt really have the looks that the Xenomorph king actually do. The king has a much bigger head crest, well it looks different and that makes it bigger. Also the "horns" on the head is supposed to be a bit larger, And if I remember correctly he dous not have the extra "small" arms that the queen does. Also he looks even more feminin than the queen. And instead of spikes on the back he has one "bigg spike with a rounded tip" on each side of the hips pointing upwards. He does not have as many fingers on the hands as the queen. And I think he do have tubes, but on the head instead of the back... But I really do like your version! Hope this was any help, and have a nice day!

Brillitant, though I always have pictured an Alien king being a bit smaller than a queen, as in a lot of insect species.

While it looks good, he DOES look like a spikey Queen. Personally, I think that if there were a king, it would be smaller than the Queen, as Xenomorphs seem to have a rather matriarchal hierarchy.
It's a good concept though.

I know it's probably cliche to say this, but personally I always imagined the Kings being larger. Queens being about 12 - 14 feet, and the kings as 16 - 20 foot behemoths...maybe a bit larger, just due to the bulkier and more masculine anatomy. Well, at least in an AVP story I have in mind. Each to their own.

Yeah, thats what I thought too. I had always imagined the king with much larger teeth and a nastier facial expression as well, maybe I'll save that stuff for the next one (which won't be for a while because xenos really took a beating to my left hand).
