Lately there have been Fluttermac fans bashing Cheerilee due to her part in the upcoming Hearts and Hooves episode, mostly saying Fluttershy belongs with Big Macintosh.What?
Fluttershy and Big Macintosh have never shared one word with each other, yet people treat it like it's canon.
So far, all they've done is stand next to each other in several scenes in The Last Roundup.
In fact, you know which Mac pairing is the closest to being canon? Twimac.
In Season 1, Twilight was the only member of the Mane 6, aside from Applejack, who knew Big Mac existed (being introduced to him in Friendship is Magic Part 1 and talking about him with AJ in Applebuck Season). In Season 2, several indications that hint at Twimac have been shown to us (Big Mac licking Twilight in Return of Harmony Part 2 and Big Mac running off with Smarty Pants after the spell was lifted in Lesson Zero). But the biggest hint of all is that THEY ACTUALLY INTERACTED WITH EACH OTHER which is more than can be said for Fluttershy!
In fact, I don't really understand why Fluttermac is so popular in the first place! Why? Because she's the helpless damsel and he's the big, strong tough guy? Aren't we all a little sick of cliched pairings?

You're right, maybe Twimac won't ever be canon, but that doesn't mean I have to accept Flashlight just becauseΒ Hasbro decided toΒ make Twilight fall head-over-heels for some random guy whom she'll never see again.

I usually try to avoid shipping with Big Mac because that just gets messy. And I absolutely hate flutter mac. I mean, they're two shy ponies who hardly ever talk to other ponies, so their relationship would get absolutely now where.Β
Also, don't want to hate on your Twimac, but I'm pretty sure Big Mac is older than the Mane 6.Β

The reasons I dislike Cheerimac:
They never interacted before.
They would brought together by a spell and had no control over their emotions. Even if it became canon afterwards, that's a reeeally creepy start to a romance.
The plot was too similar to the PowerPuff Girls Valentine episode (3 little girls try to be matchmaker to their kindergarten teacher and a quiet, unattached older male. At least no mind control was involved there.)
I'm tired of the massive Apple family being nothing but Earth ponies, so it would be great if any one of them got a pegasus or unicorn love interest.
I'm not entirely sure who I'd like Big Mac to be with, although Twilight seemed the most likely choice based on S1 and S2 episodes, S3 really lowered the chances of that being canon.
To me the important thing is not whether a couple is canon or not, but whether they have good chemistry together. Twilight and Mac had potential and seems more interesting to me (he's smarter than he looks, they share a fondness for Smarty Pants dolls). Cheerilee and Mac are pretty bland together, and their hook up was really contrived and has unfortunate implications. (magic potion aka date rape drug brought them together, once again a canon couple features 2 ponies of the same race. I think Cadance and Shining Armor are the only confirmed mixed race couple on the show, and who knows he might become an alicorn too since apparently that can happen to unicorns sometimes.)

For starters, I never really liked this pairing. Not once. And I probably won't ever like it.
Honestly, I can't stand some of shippers of it that portray her as a "damsel in distress" type of figure. I mean, to me that's just plain insulting to her overall character, (remember everything she did in season 1)? It's like they're tossing all of that out the freaking window!
If you thought some of the Fluttermac shippers on this site were bad, just look at the ones on damn Youtube! They're SO freaking OBNOXIOUS! Not to mention going into fits of rage whenever they feel their precious pairing is possible threatened by ACTUAL CANON. Some of them even did this after first hearing about the summery for Keep Calm and Flutter On!
TL;DR?: The rapid shippers of this pairing really piss me off. Also, I'd much prefer Fluttercord and Macindash over this stupid pairing anyday...

Actually,this is my OTP. Fluttermac is awesome because its not lesbian,It makes sense, Both are (according to apple bloom) are shy,and gentle. Bic Mac is brave and caring. Fluttershy is caring and stands up for herself and her friends when necessary.Also,if you look closely,Scootaloo appears as if she could be their daughter. Scoots is a pegi like flutter,but is a poor flier like fluuters use to be,this also comes from Mac being earth pony. Scoots has spiky hair and tail like big Mac,and the middle spike is curled like flutter's mane.also,combine red and yellow and you get orange. also,light purple mane.

Honestly I've never seen the show, but I guess a mark of a good show is the fact that fans keep throwing fan-fiction everywhere they get a chance to do so.
Think of other franchises that are popular among the public. Most Final Fantasy fans assume that Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockheart (FF7) should be, or would end up together, despite this not actually happening either on the game and/or spin offs.
I guess what I'm trying to say is let them create their fan fantasy until either is reinforced or officially rejected on the show...

I don't see the reason to get upset at all. Everybrony/pegasister has his/her opinion. I, myself, like Fluttermac. Just because they haven't interacted doesn't mean you have to burst about it. You may like some other pairing. That's okay. Some people like Fluttermac. That's okay.
