As much as I'd like to blame the internet or the parents, I believe it's something different, though sadly I cannot say what. Homosexuality has become quite a fashion throughout the years.

That's what really pisses me off, people treating homosexuality like it's a fad.

People in my high school does that, almost all the girls on my school suddenly turned bisexual but none of them have ever shown any serious attraction towards another girl. And don't get me started on how cosplay has turned homosexuality upside down..

I'm making a new stamp. It's going to say 'Must sexuality be brought into everything?'

It's fantards who know jack about MLP. Rainbow Dash existed long before FiM and was a frilly feminine chick.

jigglypuff64 In reply to Enelar [2011-10-21 19:04:03 +0000 UTC]

Exactly. And I bet 85% of bronies know jack shit about My Little Pony and only like it because it's a meme. I've liked My Little Pony since I was five and then this year it became a fucking internet meme for God knows why.

Enelar In reply to jigglypuff64 [2011-10-21 19:39:37 +0000 UTC]

Hi5, been into MLP since the year it first came out in 82-83. I get that not everyone feels like knowing the entire history of the toys and that but geez, it's not like it's any great secret where these characters came from and who Faust designed them after. I found it in five minutes on Google.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jigglypuff64 In reply to Enelar [2011-10-21 21:04:48 +0000 UTC]

And not to mention that the fans have little to no respect for the original generations. It's like, without those generations, FiM wouldn't exist.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Enelar In reply to jigglypuff64 [2011-10-22 07:34:49 +0000 UTC]

It wouldn't exist at all. The original ponies Faust drew were Firefly, Surprise, Posey, Twilight, Sparkler and of course Applejack - they're all G1s. FiM would have been about G1 ponies if Hasbro hadn't lost the rights to those names. Instead, we got G4 with G1 personalities!

I saw Bronies bashing G3 which was equally as confusing - Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and several background ponies like Scootaloo and Cheerilee are all from G3. Rarity and Cheerilee are from 3.5 which they scream the loudest about (and to be fair, it was pretty mediocre - Hasbro kinda gave up) while Pinkie and Dash were some of the first and most popular ponies released in G3.

I even saw a Brony saying how they "hated the G2 cartoon". There isn't a G2 cartoon! G2 was very short lived in America.

jigglypuff64 In reply to Enelar [2011-10-22 14:26:24 +0000 UTC]

And then I've actually seen bronies send DEATH THREATS to people who like the older generations but not FiM, or like the older generations better than FiM.

Dash always struck me as an 'Anything-that-moves' type of gal.

Anyway. I'm split on the whole 'Dash is gay' stuff. On one hand, the jokes are kinda funny. 'Griffon the Brush-Off' still makes me crack up with all of its subtext. On the other, the stereotype that tomboy = gay is annoying. Not to mention that that stereotype has put me through a ton of crap (I live in the deep South...yay Southern pride...=_= ) way back in elementary and middle school, so I probably should be more offended about it. But eh. Whatever.

Realistically, she is a pony on a kid's show. A show that is excellent and far surpasses what is usually expected for its target demographic, yes, but still a kid's show. I doubt Rainbow, or any of the other ponies, have any sort of sexuality, unless it is needed for a quick joke (Rarity and her prince). Now, I think an openly gay or bisexual character on a kid's show would be an -amazing- step forward for society, but I don't think this is the show for that. MLP: FIM is supposed to be about adventure and fun and awesomeness. Not romance.

However, I still dig the occasional pairing piece, regardless the pair, if it is well-written. I just want that stuff to stay on DeviantArt, and off the show.

I wouldn't care in the world what rainbow's sexuallity is, I mean, she could be with a parasprite and I wouldn't care. But yeah, the whole thing with her HAVING to be a lesiban is getting quite annoying.

JacklinR In reply to ??? [2011-07-17 14:48:38 +0000 UTC]

well, it's hilarious, 'cause I know many lesbians, and they differ between them, honestly, any of the characters could be lesbians... saying that, rainbow dash would fall under the stereotype lesbian...

but, I can't see any of the characters having any kind of relationship. =/

...yah, that would just be wierd.

They're not. Lauren never said she was a lesbian, she never said she wasn't one, either. What's the difference between hetero art and yuri/lesbian art other than it's girl/girl instead of boy/girl.
You seem to refuse to think that the ponies are any sexuality other than hetero, when they really aren't anything at all.

Amen! I was and still AM a tomboy, but I'm most certainly NOT a lesbo. Nor am I bi. You can ask and he'll attest to it as well. I mean...he's my BOYFRIEND afterall. Rule 34 should NEVER EVER EVER cross into a child's cartoon. I don't care HOW gay a character may seem. It's just WRONG on SOOOOO many levels.

my feelings torwards shipping abridged
rainbow dash is NOT a lesbian...
shes bisexual
really, i dont hate shipping at all, i find it humorous. so i try to crack a joke and get someone to lol with me. if i can do that, win for the day. also, can i really throw egg on someone else's hard work when i myself have nothing to show? curse my lazy. anywho, if it gets you to write and develope your skill, as well as net a friend and/or some hopefully funny jokes by yours truly, meh, let em screw, not like its hurting them most... some of the time(bondage, anyone?).
i myself dont really ship the mane six together. really, love in a story SHOULD serve greater purpose, and/or occur torwards the end of a long story, where the combined acts (and maybe physical attraction doesnt hurt) brings the two lovers together, creating a more perfect union. webster for instance can serve as the first point. their past crush sets up the question 'what went wrong to split this pair so horribly?'
as for dash, ive thought of fiction where it actually irks and hinders her by challenging who she is to herself. on another fiction, throw in some childhood trauma and BINGO homophoebic fiction. whether i get to it or not is the real question.
curse my lazy.
