OMG I finally finished this guy!
He was originally supposed to be Pegasus from Hercules for the 'From Comical to Classical' contest run by The Digital Painter, but I ran out of time. So I altered him slightly to have the pattern of a Snow Goose. 
I think these are the best wings I've done yet! Not as sure about the BG, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to tell me, I may go back and change it...Edit* Details! [link]

Actually I like the simple background, it puts emphasis on the movement of the figure.
And that guy looks positively wonderful. Love the muscle play and the wing pattern. Nice job!

Wow. Just wow. Everything, including the BG is wow! It doesn't need a thing. It's simplicity frames the pegasus perfectly

This is beautiful! I love how you do white horses!
I actually really like the background- it's not bare, but it's not so overwhelming that it takes away from the horse.
I think you should consider doing the Pegasus version too, I for one would like to see it...

Haha, they really aren't as hard as everyone thinks! The key is to NOT shade with gray. Use bluegrays/violetgrays for shadow and pale creams for highlights. Or whatever color they are around, as light reflects
