Description
I gotta admit, I've only played the arcade version only once, and that was its sequel. Never could get past the first obstacle. Thank goodness that YouTubers managed to get the entire playthrough. This is the first title card that I've put a sword in the Nerd's hand. True, I could've used some sword shots from the Final Battle. But then I wouldn't be able to use those shots again.

I remember that review. Sadly, he didn't show much of the game (and it only gets worse after the first level). On the other hand, I can't exactly blame him. That game is ungodly difficult.
If you can speak French, the "Joueur du Grenier" (he cameoed in one of Mike's videos) did a review ([link] ) of both NES and SNES version. His style is a bit different from AVGN, though (a total absense of toilet humor for starters).

Reminds me how silly it is that a door can kill you but a bat only takes a bit of your health.
As for the art. Good work. I'm guessing you were intending to represent the animated arcade version rather than the NES version the AVGN reviewed.

Well, that's what the NES version was based on after all. And it's much more visually pleasing than trying to use the 8-bit sprites.

Yes. True. 8-bit sprites don't resize too well.
