Barbie really only turns into ragdoll mode when she has too, but people seem super wary of her when she does so. Barbie's obviously picked up on this, and for a long time, going into her doll form just made her... anxious. And stressed. She hates being alone especially, so....
Also, that green goop is from a monster.
