Background:

Mayor Lacey was one of the founders of Gemsylvania. She fought in the gem war as a commanding officer under blue diamond, but was torn when blue diamond gave her the order to leave those under her behind and flee. She did as her diamond told, but felt the weight of guilt for leaving her squad behind afterwards. When she heard of the earth's destruction she became disillusioned with homeworld. How could the diamonds leave everyone behind without a second thought? She turned around before they made it back to homeworld, and made a traitor of herself in order to search for the gems she had left on earth, hoping that she could save at least one of them.

To her great surprise, the earth was not destroyed when she arrived. Filled with hope, she searched for any signs of gem life left on the planet. She found and bubbled several corrupt gems. She traveled all over the earth, falling in love with it's life as she searched. Earth had seemed so different during the war... Finally she ran into a few gems who, like her, had made earth their home after the war. They settled together, deciding to live their life on earth, and founded Gemsylvania.
