Description
One military uniform from the world We Few Who Remain, my current ongoing sci-fi setting (also called the Remain-verse).The Proletariat Confederation was formed amidst the First Outbreak, as the Confederation of All Humanity government began collapsing. Over time, increasing corruption and the ever more authoritarian nature of the government had brought about a reflourishing of the Communist ideology among the populace of the Outerworlds. Once the Fall of Earth came, everything quickly toppled after the Bleeder Plague was set to nearly eradicate mankind. Seizing their opportunity, the Cosmic Communist Vanguard Party (CCVP) rose up and began a brief but bloody war to seize control of the remaining colonies of Humanity. While not entirely successful, the CCVP was able to take the majority of the Outerworlds, including those within the New Russland region.
Drafting the People's Unity Accords what is known as the Proletariat Confederation came to be. The Confederation is highly centralized, with all citizens being assigned jobs and positions following a series of aptitude tests throughout their adolescence. All citizen's have but one name, given to them by their parents, but their surname is but merely their occupation, changing as required. The military, however, is open to any and all, the training for all military personnel being some of the most grueling in the Outerworlds. The first objective of the Proletarian military was securing what would become the Old Earth Alliance systems, welcoming the evacuation ships from Sol and the other core systems of the old Confederation, but doing strict and draconian scanning procedures, exterminating all infected with extreme prejudice. To the Communists, and to the rest of the Outerworlds, a cure was impossible, and efforts and resources were better served wiping out any and all Bleeders. However, attempts to administer these systems were repulsed, but the Communists were not entirely displeased; between the four OEA systems and the rest of the PC was but a single monitored zero-point (FTL travel) lane, providing an excellent choke point between the Confederation and the Lost Worlds.
The ranks of the PC military are almost entirely the same between all four branches, except for the entry level and final level positions. The Infantry is just that, handling all ground and ship-to-ship deployment, with little regard for their own lives over that of the Confederation as a whole, but that in now way means that Proletarian tactics are at all unsophisticated; it simply revolves around the use of overwhelming force and the sacrifice of large numbers to achieve a goal. The Armada is the aquatic navy of the Confederation, a theatre sometimes under valued, but the amount of planets with either water or ammonia seas means that it is a required part of any military, albeit one that the Confederation often underfunds. The Fleet is the stellar navy of the Confederation, and theirs is one of the best in the Outerworlds, with massive dreadnaughts capable of defeating swathes of enemy fighters all on their own. Lastly the Institute is the intelligence and internal affairs of the Confederation, doubling as the political officers aboard all ships, be they in space or at sea.
The dress of the Proletarian military is a standard red, accented with white and black. Rank is presented on the soldier's right breast, their black sash worn at all times. The branch of a soldier is seen on the side of their rank badge. Their collar is buttoned on top of their coat, which is zipped, and the gloves are tucked underneath their cuffs. The belt should be secured, and the pants must have a crisp crease. Any soldier in dress (which at any time outside of combat, as most armor and gear is designed to go atop the uniform which is designed to be easily cleaned and tear-resistant) can be reprimanded or even demoted. The purpose of this is to ensure uniformity and cohesion of all troops as part of a collective.
The predominant ethnicity in the Confederation is Anglorussiyan, derived form the numerous Russian-American-Anglo joint colonization ventures during the earlier years of Human colonization, before the unification of the species under the All Humanity government. The Confederations motto of "Wurknik of Kosmosa, Soyun!" is Englavic (the language of the Anglorussiyans) for "Workers of the Comsos, Unite!"
