Yeah so... wanted to do some traditional work and I'm currently practicing to get better but... as I tried to draw a Scout to practice boys as well, this came out of it in the end because I couldn't stop drawing on it. I've placed it under "digital art" because of the background and some added blood and such, but da Scout is pure traditional.To believe I actually worked on a background for once... I must admit it feels nice to actually make a background.
I've been a little scared of getting back here (because of the last time I drew Scout... mehh) but I thought you should see the progress I've made and... well, it was nice to work on something else but skecthes.
I guess I should thank thank that flamer who called me a virus. She said "stop animuizing everything" and it seems TF2 fans usually don't like it if you draw TF2 in manga style. Well, you've opened my eyes, dear flamer, because I will now work on showing da TF2 fans that manga does not necessery ruin TF2. I don't like "kawaii"-lookin TF2 chars either, but manga does not have to be all "kawaii"

I love this piece, it's starting to make me think scout has a darker, more brutal, tactical, and ruthless personality.

This is the type of Scout I love to see : ) not the cutesy scout or the hellishly cartoonish scout, but the realistic lovely style you have showed us today. I love his in game design, but this is what I love about fanart. Thank you so much for this. I love the look in his eyes and the blood spatter across his face. The details are phenomenal.

I think he looks kinda feminine.. Not sure if it's the eyes or the jawline. But nice job on the pencil art. I feel like there should be something more in the white space, though. The rest of the bg looks great.

Dude...we should TOTALLY team up! Haha...well, I got h8ed by TF2channers as well, because they don't like the way I drew and the fact that I spoke back to them about it...though it left me permband. As if I would want to be a part of /that/ close-mined fat group anyway.
This is a wonderful picture: Everything about it is captivating--the style, the colors, the feel. You did an excellent job.
Draw the way /you/ want to draw, not the way people tell you to (i.e. the TF2 fans...*ahem* channers saying anime style of their men is horrible).
It really comes down to what one person decided, and the rest followed like mindless sheep...and funny thing is, most of them are furries, too.
Anyway, please keep up the good work! I love the way you draw!

Ahh, actually I've realized something. Channers have a certain way of saying things and yes they can be quite mean, but that's the internet. I don't approve their ways of saying things, and I would never call anyone a virus myself, because the way you draw simply do not make /you/ anything bad of the kind.
I'm a channer myself. Or a /b/tard, if you prefer that name, but I hardly ever agree with the way channers talk to other people. I've learned to live with it though, so actually I won't be bothered by any abussive comments anymore.
I'm sorry that you got banned btw. I know how you feel because it's damn annoying when your person is flamed.

I think the problem in the manga style is the small faces and big eyes. o__o That tends to turn pretty muchly anything cute. But if you work on the lenght of his face a little, the eyes shouldnยดt be a problem. ^^ Awesome piece tho, had to fave it.

A cute Scout is fun, but yeah, it's been done too much. A nice balance is always perferred. I mean, he's a street walking tough guy from Boston, and you don't go around with that kinda attitude without being able to back it up. Hell, I've been there before. It's not New York, but it certainly isn't a sweet place either in certain parts. lol

I like the cute Scouts as well, but I will have to agree with TF2chan when they say "TF2 in manga-style is just not right". I like it sometimes, but at the same time it makes it a little too cute. I'm trying to break out, though. Use manga, but not in a way that'll ruin TF2.

Very good idea. I don't have a problem with the style, but it does have a bit too much of a cutesy factor now that I think about it. It's refreshing to see them badass at times.
It's an intereting place. Like any city, it's crowded, but there's plenty to do and fun at the right times. All depends on exactly where you go. Some places are really classy, others not so much.
