Description Finally made his ref. I've had this character for months but never introduced him until now :'D

Name:
Cletus Argonos the 2nd

Nickname: Clyde, The StoryTeller

Age: 17

Species: Dromik

Home Planet: Arclydia

Date of birth: December 7th

Gender: Male

Height: 5'4" ft

Weight: 125 lbs

Sexual orientation: Hetereosexual

Relationship status: Single

Occupation: Educator, and lab assistant

Abilities/Powers:
Able to project holograms from gauntlets (projectors), glides ever so slightly in high places before falling painfully to the ground, can run pretty fast, and has very high endurance. Is charismatic, and has a great memory.

Strengths: He is able to talk his way out of many situations despite being unable to fight. He is good at running away, and being a somewhat competent lab assistant since he has a good amount of knowledge in mechanics, cataloging and robotics. He is also a pretty decent pilot and knows how to aim, usually stuff such as rocks, slingshots, and flingable things that don't have recoil like hand held guns. He is pretty great at firing turrets though.

Weakness: He is a coward, and can't fight to save his life. Despite being a competent lab assistant he is very clumsy, and can easily accidently break stuff. He is a teenager, so he has moments where he fawns over girls, which can distract him from his main goals.

Personality: Clyde is a kind indiviual who enjoys young children, and spending his time trying to educate his race about their history since a good amount of his race are ignorant of their past. He does not like being called Clyde and would prefer to be called by his self proclaimed title "the story teller." He is a strong believer in justise, and giving people chances despite what has happened to him in the past.

Biography: Born in a dromik colony on planet Arclydia. His parents divorced when he was 2 years old. His father had no time to take care of his son, so he left Clyde to be cared for by his grandfather. A great historian, archeologist, and small time mechanical engineer. During this time, his grandfather taught Clyde the Dromik's history as a once proud race, ruined by their own thirst for knowledge. That the reason they were in war was because they were the creators of the Zerimites, the unnatural hive minded race that now inhabit the dromik's once beautiful and now polluted homeworld, Xeronax. That 2000 years ago the Dromik had been chased away off their home planet and just slowly evolved into more trigger happy brutes instead of being a race of science like they once were. His grandfather explained to Clyde that he wanted to uncover the secrets of the Zerimites to figure out if they've possibly evolved to become more complex than they've originally had thought, if they were actually "people" too instead of the mindless drones depicted in past scientific journals, but to do this he had to create a device to decyrpt the Zerimite's language.

As Clyde worked alongside his grandfather he gained many skills to become a great lab assistant, though he had some missteps here and there. Once and a while his father would visit him, but with each visit his father would go on about how Clyde was a disappointment and that he would rather have a son that would fight alongside him in battle, and blaming his grandfather in the process for turning clyde into a "nerd". As Clyde grew up, his bond with his grandfather grew stronger to the point his grandfather finally decided to show Clyde what he'd been working on for years during his 16th birthday. Revealing a prototype like headpiece he made that was on the brink of being able to decipher and translate the Zerimite language. He tells Clyde that his dream is to end the war peacefully, that even the resistance was corrupted and to trust no one. That he wanted to find out both sides of the story before he died. However this was not to happen. The building was broken into that night on Clyde's birthday, his grandfather placing the decrypter in an old cardboard box and telling Clyde to hide and to keep it safe. As he hid, Zerimite's burst into the house, cornering his grandfather as they demanded him to hand over the device. When he refused, he was approached and shot in the head. His body falling limp in front of Clyde who was hiding.

They searched and ransacked the house and when they were unable to find anything, they proceeded to burn down the house. Clyde, grabbed his grandfathers holo projectors, and left out of a small window near the floor. From that day he suffered from nightmares, and severe depression. A year passed, and one day he decides that he needed to continue what his grandfather wanted, and not let his hatred and feelings get in the way because it wouldn't be what his grandfather wanted. Even if he couldn't do it in a grand scale, he could at least try to inform and educate the now ignorant colony about their history and hope maybe someone can help him. Day after day most of his attempts at trying to convince people to do what's right instead of for money and their own gain, failed. Though he is greeted and welled liked among the children, everyone else began treating him like a joke who is stuck in his own fantasies instead of reality. Until one day a zerimite is captured and is held prisoner on his colony for a short time. Clyde becomes greatly curious and tries to seek out the Zerimite to find out that it is a extremely beat up, disfigured Zerimite locked up in a room. He is scared off immediately after seeing the sinister looking scientist and runs home. Late at night he realizes that if no one here won't do anything, then maybe he needs to do something himself despite being very under qualified to do so. But not without help at least. He decides that he needed the Zerimite's help, and that he needed to push his fears aside to approach the zerimite. He grabs his grandfather's decryptor and heads over to the building containing the zerimite. Clyde using his great persuasive skills to convince the guard to let him inside, where he steals an unattentive guards cardkey to the Zerimite's cell. Once inside he is immediately hit with the Zerimite's strange language using infrasound, the translator only being able to catch only a few of the Zerimites words from being a incomplete prototype. That is until finally he asks the zerimite and tries to convince him to help him. At first the zerimite refuses until Clyde offered to provide currency (bytes) to assist if he was allowed to tag along and to also help him escape. The zerimite eventually becomes convinced and they end up escaping off the planet together. Clyde eventually finds out that the Zerimite is a rebel and former scientist for the Zerimite hive named Crome, and that he is in search of two memory chips stored on data probes scattered throughout the universe to restore his fragmented mind. Clyde then realizes that restoring Crome's memories 100% might provide Cylde with the secrets and information that his grandfather was looking for the whole entire time and might be the key to saving both races from destroying and fighting each other in the war.

Aww, he's adorable. I really like his attire. He's got a sad backstory though .w. I feel sorry for him.

Question; do the dromik use their wings, or are they vestigial?

It took me months to come up with a nice design for his clothing. Since their tech/clothing is supposed to be different compared to the rival Zerimite's tech :'D
Their wings are vestigial, they're pretty much more for balance now instead of flying xD
