Pictured here is one of the most famous temnospondylian amphibians is Eryops from the late Carboniferous - early Permian of North America. It belongs to the family Eryopidae with Clamorosaurus from Russia and Onchiodon from Western Europe.

I pictured the type species of Eryops - Eryops megacephalus from the early Permian of Texas, which reaches two meters in length. The length of the skull of this creature was up to 50 cm.
