Description
Another work. I did it almost simultaneously with the Therizinosaurus. This is the centrosaurine Menefeeceratops sealeyi from the Late Cretaceous of New Mexico. Its description came out almost simultaneously with the description of the hadrosaur Tlatolophus, which took all the attention for itself. I decided to contribute to the correction of this injustice.

Menefeeceratops is known from the Campanian Menefee Formation. It was first described back in 1997, but then it had not yet received a name. This year it was redescribed taking into account the new material and given a name derived from the name of the formation. Menefeeceratops is known from a partial associated skeleton, including a complete lower jaw, part of the neck frill, and a femur. The new genus was established on the basis of the features of the structure of the frill and jaw and the shape of the horn. This animal does not look very impressive: a medium-sized (4-4. 5 m) ceratopsian with relatively short horns. In the phylogenetic analysis, the new taxon turned out to be the most basal centrosaurine and the closest relative of Crittendenceratops krzyzanowskii from Arizona. The age of the Menefee Formation is estimated to be Middle Campanian, which makes Menefeeceratops the oldest centrosaurine. Which, in turn, suggests the origin of this subfamily in the south of Laramidia.

In this work, I wanted to make a stylized background, for which I chose conifers. Also here I practiced drawing dust, it turned out quite well. I really liked the overall result.
