I finally finished my second work of the year with a full environment. Two megalosaurids Torvosaurus gurneyi hunt a weakened brachiosaurid, Lusotitan atalaiensis. One of the predators has already wounded the sauropod and is ready to bite again. The second Torvosaurus will join the attack in a moment and their victim will be defeated.

This work is a remake of a very old watercolor drawing that is full of inaccuracies. I decided to give a second life to this idea to see how far I had come in terms of understanding these creatures and reproducing them on paper. There were some difficulties in the process, especially with the drawing ground. I even had to redraw the original sketch. A minute of paleoinfo: Torvosaurus gurneyi was described by Hendrickx and Mateus in 2014 based on a maxilla with one tooth and other fragmentary specimens. Previously described embryos were also tentatively assigned to this taxon. The species name was given in honor of the famous artist James Gurney, famous for his project "Dinotopia". On the other hand, Lusotitan atalaiensis is a close relative of Brachiosaurus, described as a species of this genus in 1957. In 2003, it was separated into a separate genus. Lusotitan is known from vertebrae and appendicular skeleton elements.

EDIT: did the shadows on neck and shoulder area lighter with gouache and adjusted the brown tones of sauropod limb.
