Great depiction of this freshwater mosasaur, good enough to be featured on this week's mosasaur episode in Prehistory: A Traveler's Guide. This freshwater mosasaur from the late Cretaceous of Hungary (Santonian stage). Not the earliest, but rather primitive. His limbs still like feet land lizards, so he could crawl out on land. I painted it without the "fish" of the fin on the tail, because of its primitiveness.
