Description Another experiment with style. And yet another T. rex.

Here, I not only wanted to make drawing simpler and more concise than usual. Known prints show such small scales "scales" that on a living Tyrannosaurus Rex from a distance, as he is often painted, they were simply indistinguishable. So I decided to avoid unnecessary detail. Almost no feathers, except for small bristles on the neck and arms.

And yes, he is lipped.

Nice to see someone playing with the idea that a Tyrannosaurus might have been as feathered as an elephant is hairy.Β

Yes, it's a possibility. And there is a possibility that he did not have feathers (unless, of course, except for secondary scales under this name).

Nice work, although I prefer the croc face for large theropods and tyrannosaurids.

Nice! The sparse vestigial feathering makes a lot of sense here.

That's what seems to be the most accurate orientation on large Tyrannosaurines with the Saurian style feathering close behind.

And where does it dismiss the possibility of a scaly Rex?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tigon1Monster In reply to ThalassoAtrox [2017-07-14 14:23:36 +0000 UTC]

Andrea Cau responded to the paper and pocked more than a few holes in it. His conclusion is that those β€œscales” don’t look even remotely like normal scales, and that taphonomy played a big role in the formation of those structures. A fully scaly Tyrannosaurus is indeed still pretty unlikely.

But it's only one person and even experts can be wrong, esspecially with bizzare statements like that.

T.rex could have been entirely scaly as far as current evidence shows and you need to just deal with it. Β Β

"It's only one person an even experts can be wrong"

You see the irony of this statement, right? There are plenty of experts on either side of this debate. The fact of the matter is that whether you think they look like scales or not, the patches were found on areas that were more or less already accepted as being scaly. The statement that it "could have been entirely scaly as far as current evidence shows"Β is irrelevant, because that's been the case from day one. Now calm down, stop acting like a child, and try not to get so triggered.
