Right now I use MMD, a free 3D program. (MikuMikuDance) I learned about it from my friend. It can't read certain files, so the ones I download for it are usually .pmd or .x, and I get them from the MMD Mall here on DA. Sometimes they come in .rar, but I can convert those at a free website called convertfiles.com. Convertfiles.com doesn't support 3D file types though.

RAR is just a packager; to wrap up and compress each type of file, just like .ZIP.

Yeah, but I have to convert .rar to .zip to be able to look at the files on my computer without downloading an extra program that can read .rar files though.
MMD is cool, you can pretty much do anything with it as far as themes. (scary, cute, etc.) I learned about it first from my friend (avatar made by her and her brother from MMD screenshot) She uses it all the time, I think she wants to be a 3D animator as a career. And I know you make original 3D things from scratch, so you have the option of using your own models and taking screenshots and dance videos with them if you can't already. I can't make my own parts from scratch, so I download parts made and distributed by others. There are several to choose from and endless combos though, so my work can still be original. I put my models together in PMD editor. Those are pretty much the only two programs I've downloaded for the making of my 3D art.
