Description
After a long and stressful day I had a little bit free time to try out the new Wings3d version:Β www.wings3d.com/?page_id=84
and I modeled a Nutcracker, he's still unfinished.Β
I think I'll find a way to make the hairs.
Thank you everyone for your congratulations!
Have a wonderful Christmas!

Nice one Simone!
You worked well on the mesh in order to not need to unwrap it.

Thank you!
This is how I often use to create my 3d models,
then I don't need elaborate uv maps.

I can not start Wings 3D 2.1.5. It shows error. Perhaps due to the fact, that I have Windows XP SP2, but not Windows 7?

If you go to the forum we can try figure out what's happening.
I don't think XP is causing the problem. May your graphic card doesn't support OpenGL 2.1?!
Usually there's some kind of dump file that can help to understand what is going wrong. Go to the forum.

Thanks for the advice. I have registered on the forum and ask the following questions:
At start of Wings 3D 2.1.5 the error message appears:
Failed to start Wings 3D: 193.
My OS is Windows XP SP2 (32 bits). Video card ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series.
At the same time the Wings 3D 1.5.3 version works normally. In what the reason?

Waiting for an answer.

Didn't notice you have transcript the message error here. That could avoid you to need be registered just to get a negative answer.
I also didn't remember Wings3D was not working anymore in Windows XP. It was until 2.0.

These developers program (bastards!) They believe that XP is dead and no one is using this OS. Actually still more than 50% normal users use it! Because limited resources of computer (memory, etc.) Windows XP takes up less disk space, it is loaded twice as fast, and so on.
In any case, I installed Windows 7 (64 bit) on another disk. Simply, he is temporarily disabled due to a computer problem. Therefore, all the basic work I do in XP.
Here's my computer, the 2008 sample:
Win Xp SP2 (32 bit), Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.666Ghz 4 Gb (visible 3.25Gb) RAM. The video card ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series.
On another drive installed Win 7 (64 bit), use all 4 GB of memory.

That started with Microsoft when they released Visual Studio 2012: "Visual Studio 2012 does not support Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 development." reference
Maybe because they killed the XP support. But, - maybe because lot of developers complained - they released an update that enabled that, but it requires some extra work from developers that in some cases wouldn't worth the effort.
