Well, boxmaking is interesting, but I don't know if it's going to be a thing of mine. I've had more fun with less difficulty and better results, but I suppose the sexy, ol' blue box came out all right. I've certainly learned that I don't like oak. Ick, it's just so fuzzy and big grained. Won't take a good sanding either, but it does soak up dye and oil like a champion; fair's fair.
Certainly my paneling needs some working on, I have some definite plans concerning the paneling on my Mark II TARDIS box, in progress now. But the whole thing did give me an unprecedented amount of work with hand tools, between dozuki saws and chisels and scissors and even a brief go with a spokeshave, although that didn't really work out. Plus I got to really layer on the blue wood dye I got a few weeks back. The windows are pretty atrocious; I did them in the wrong order, and should have painted them first instead of panelling.
External dimensions of the box are about 11x11x25 cm; interior dimensions, well, you all know the line.
