He came to me
Under a cloudy sky,
I didn’t understand
But I didn’t ask why.

He sat with me
And held me as I cried,
Cared and comforted me
Till each tear had dried.

He told me his heart
Had a place for me,
And that he was nothing special,
Only what the eye could see.

And I smiled through and through
When he said ‘I love you’,
And when I laughed and I cried
He didn’t once question why.

We sat under the sky,
Watched each star pass by,
Never once wondered how,
What mattered was here and now.
