Description
Lying awake, it’s almost dawn,Screwed up features stifle a yawn.
Losing count of the sheep that jump,
Thoughts of ‘them’, my heart thumps.
Maybe I can carry on,
Perhaps this fear will soon be gone.
Maybe as a child is born,
I will be no longer torn.
Stifle a yawn, try to sleep,
But thoughts of ‘them’ start to creep.
Again I cry-no this can’t go on,
One of them has stayed too long.
Both so dear, such a painful choice,
‘But you must do it’ says that voice.
Lying awake, it’s now past dawn,
No matter what I choose, I will still be torn.
