Through the shadows, comes a stranger,He visits the child in the manger.
With his finger, he draws a cross on her head,
To protect her from evil and the dead.
He blows a cool breath and she falls asleep,
Her breathing becomes even and her slumber deep.
He smiles a secret smile, and her mouth curls up too,
And he gives this message to me and you.
‘This baby is precious, treat her with care,
She can grow up to be great, although now she’s unaware.
You may ask why she is special, and I will answer to you-
She is no more special than me or you.’
