Description it's just a training, but as I wanted some attention to get advanced crits.....
later when I get satified with the comment I'll move it to the scraps.....

it was my real first time trying to brush a "realistic" nebula. This one was supposed to be a cocoon planetary nebula but the white dwarf ended up too big
As I said it was a training, somekind of introduction for brushing nebulae and took me about 1.30hr

if you have any (ANY) thoughts about this PLEASE comment

*EDIT [12/26/2004]:
after getting the genial idea of making a new avatar using this nebula practice I just thought about showing a bit ofwath I could do more with that. Also sharpened the nebula, wich I think is over-sharpen now, wath will be fixed tomorrow, cuz it's 4AM now and I wanna go sleep

**EDIT [12/26/2004]:
alright the over-sharpen is fixed

wow, the translucency you gave it, as well as the particulatee matter in front of the star, and the planets have vastly improved this and given it more depth. this is shaping up to be a very nice test!

good ^^ but its so strong the nebula, take a look at ov3rminds Deviantpage and his nebulas, he do it very good

xRed-thunderDragoNx In reply to Smeril [2004-12-26 14:08:00 +0000 UTC]

well the right word is sharp, but not strong. Well, *Ov3RMinD 's style is completly different from mine. As he tries to make big gaseous clouds like ` hameed , my style follows the ones by * sirgerg and *sumopiggy .
Then, we are just talking about personal likes eh. Some people like sharp gas formations like me and others, more foggy formations.
By the way, as I said before, I did some sharpen with filter but was exagerated..... right now I'm going to fix this.

I can see a resemblance to Sumopiggy's nebulas. If you added crisp strokes to give more detail then this nebula would be awsome. Still very good work Your becoming quite and artist

The level of dettails I put on this piece isn't very visible at once, only if I would show one version with and one version without then.
By the way it's a good point that I'll take note of: refine the micro details, caracteristics of sumo....
thank you

Ov3RMinD [2004-12-24 05:14:16 +0000 UTC]

First thing, yes, the planet is defniately too big.
Second thing, did u only use a mouse?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xRed-thunderDragoNx In reply to Ov3RMinD [2004-12-24 14:49:14 +0000 UTC]

first - there's no planet only a extremmely too big white dwarf
second - all with mouse, and not any textures used

kwy [2004-12-24 03:41:22 +0000 UTC]

ye it is small, and you pointed out yourself my major notice, was the star part being way to big and all, so ye.... good job though

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xRed-thunderDragoNx In reply to kwy [2004-12-24 03:45:37 +0000 UTC]

hahaha it was supposed to be a white dwarf that is a much smaller type of star but mine ended up too big even for a "normal" star

the nebula project that I'm still trying to upload to dA servers (since around one week) already shows some of this style

Sharpie-Love [2004-12-24 03:06:14 +0000 UTC]

Looks nice and opaque, as any planitary dust cloud should. Even though I'm not nearly as good as you, I would try and make it look like the gas clouds themselves put out a bit of light, since as the slow solar wind hits the dust it would glow, like in real life.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xRed-thunderDragoNx In reply to Sharpie-Love [2004-12-24 03:10:29 +0000 UTC]

I actually did this but the low opacity and small size of then make then almost invisible if you want to see every single one, but if I would show you with and without this specific layer you would note a big difference.
My next training will be on a bbigger document size, I promise

bloknayrb In reply to xRed-thunderDragoNx [2004-12-24 03:03:43 +0000 UTC]

the small size makes it difficult to critique

xRed-thunderDragoNx In reply to bloknayrb [2004-12-24 03:07:39 +0000 UTC]

It was just a introduction as I said before so big sizes wouldn't fit my wishes

bloknayrb In reply to xRed-thunderDragoNx [2004-12-24 03:15:27 +0000 UTC]

i realize that, but i cant really critique something that small, sorry
