Because once upon a time, Persian was an absolute beast; back in the RBY days, that little kitty would rip through absolutely everything. But, after some serious nerfing, she just spends her days rotting in the pokemon Computer world...welll; there's probably a bunch of unfinished areas in here, I got pretty sloppy towards the end

How'd he get nerfed? The persians I raised in Diamond and Pearl were fine.

In red/blue/yellow, the chance of getting CriticalHits was determined by a Pokemon's speed. Higher speed=higher chance of critical hit. Persian, with above average speed, would Crit 20%+ of the time; and if she hit with moves like Slash (+crit% chance) then just about every attack would Critical Hit. It made her pretty destructive against any/everything that wasn't ghost/rock.
Critical Hit rate was changed in later generations, where it's fixed to ~6% for all Pokemon, regardless of base stats. Soyeah, because of that she's not nearly as threatening as she once was; just a regular NormalType Pokemon with a few nice moves.

Really badass. Raichu and Persian are two of my favorite Pokemon.
In my Mystery Dungeon style story-to-come, a runty Raichu befriends and eventually...falls in love/mates with a large, powerful Meowth. ^^ For some reason, I imagine them battling like this, except he's a Meowth.

I love persian, even now. He's got a new ability that allows him to do great damage. But I have to agree with you. It seems as though all the cat pokemon suck.

Wow, this picture rocks^^ So much action in it^^ You're right, cat-based pokemon just learn harmless attacks and are always normal-typed. It's just useless to train them in the games. Sad but true

Yeah... I had a level 100 persian named after my cat in Blue. It devestated the Elite Four single handedly. And after all that natural leveling (no rare-candy), once he hit level 100, I raised his stats off the chart. Even at level 100 he was undefeatable. And he was godly when I raised alall his stats to near maximum. but... a virus wiped my game and I had no way of saving him. It hurt... i notice how all the classic powerhouses are made weak by newer versions -.- Its a shame.

I [assume] that the appraisal you're talking about is the one from the DD? I think that was like.. the suggesters comment that came with it, so it's just one persons opinion. I've kinda gotta agree with you, because although I invest most of the time I spend working into the detail, I always find it comes out a little too sloppy, and never really quite refined enough.
Though I think it's kinda funny that you'd say posing and composition are strengths, since I find those are the elements I struggle with the most.
hahaidunno; I'm still progressing and looking for a setting and a style that I'm comfortable to work in, but thanks for the comment c:.

Hmmm, I think composition is your greatest, in the way that I mean is, how you set up the frame, colors and angle of it all. Maybe you find that you struggle with it because you pay so much attention to it : )

Raichu is one of my favourite pokemon, and persian is all right, in the pokemon universe I could see Raichu winning, but in true nature, we all know who would win
