no outlines! just wanted to see what my stuff would look like if i did it without the skeleton. It's alot more work but i'm somewhat surprised at how much more detail i could sneak in. 
anyways, it's my lovely Marowak, her name is soufflé and shes beating up a scary little Aerodactyl.

I would just like to say, with even level, Aerodactyl beats the $&^* out of everything. Moveset is supereffective on everything but dark, psychic, and ghost.

I've always liked Aerodactyl, but whenever I use him, he's really kinda unreliable. Like trying to run him through the Battle Tower, where everything IS on the same level. Although he does well and always gets the first hit, anything which doesn't get One-hit-KO'd is certain to knock him out instead, because of his below-average defences.
I don't find it's the Dark/psy/ghost that are bad, it's the Water and the Steel which he can never seem to take a hit from

Awesome! I'd make Aerodactyl's eyelid have less-noticeable scales, but otherwise this is simply amazing.

Strangely enough, when I first saw the aerodactly, I thought it was singing, and then I thought it was sleeping, and then I thought it was being beaten up. And is that a piece of barbed wire around the Marowak's bone?
I personally think you could have put claws on the Marowak's forearms, but nonetheless I find your detail here quite good, especially for depicting reptiles (many others I have seen make reptiles look far more like mammals than scientifically possible).

Yup, you're right, that is a piece of barbed wire on its bone :).
I was still rather young and foolish when I made this, and so wasn't all that confident about messing with the original designs too much, but I do really like the idea of forearm claws. I'll be sure to include some if I ever find myself drawing Marowaks again.

Great pic! I love the action pose on Marowak. The texture on Aerodactyl looks great too - certainly fitting for a rock-type pokemon. Great details you put into the background too - the fading cliffs and the splashes in the water look perfect!
