Description
I once vowed that I would never paint water again, and in retrospect that was probably a smart thing to vow hahaButyeah; new(ish) OC, her name is Lili, and she lives in a world that's absolutely consumed by ocean; where she rides around on a genetically engineered mutant seal. It's a little universe that I've been drawing out in my head for a while and it's lots of fun.
I've always envied people with stories, plans, universes and whatnot, and I've only recently hopped on that bandwagon (:
So; I guess expect to see more of her soon? I guess I'll well and truly be shattering that old vow I made, worlds made out of oceans tend to include a lot of water, and with the amount I struggled here, god knows I need to practice it haha.

Photoshop yess; there're really no good shortcuts or tricks, just zoom and patience ;;;
haha, butyeah, it's meant to be the same girl. I don't think she looks the same in any of the things I've drawn her in; I think my vision for her keeps changing and that doesn't help at all.
Butyeah, I'm glad you're interested in the concept, hopefully I'll get a chance to do more contributing stuff for it sometime soon!~

i tried to use this as a pose reference for a picture of my oc at swim practice, just sort of floating lazily and catching her breath, but i couldnt get the angle right. how do you do your perspective?

This one was a nightmare for me haha, and I had a couple of photo references to help me out;;
but I'd say that finding a couple of real references would be your best bet too. Granted it's not the easiest pose to find refs for because of the angle, if you google image search something like "woman lying back" or "girl lying water" then you're bound to find at least one or two useful poses/sets of photos that would be useful.
As for legit help with perspective, I'm afraid that I'm not much use;; it's just sort of about collecting a handful of useful guides, and incorporating the elements of each to where they're appropriate.
I've gone back and redrawn parts of this 3-4 times and I still see mistakes (:

Bahaha just said that in the other comment.. But it's true you got pants shorts bondage pants/shorts jackets t's polos tanks sandals boots and shoes but if you wanted to do it for the ocean one you would cut out made half the styles that are out right now lol
