Description

At long last Part 2 of my Power Rangers Trilogy, I give you: The Fall.

It had been six months since the Rangers defeated the White Ranger markos. And in the process accidentally unleashing a great evil that threatened to conquer the world, Emperor Ragnor. But that wasn't the worst of it, for their former ally Amara had turned on the ranger following the release of her father. The island camp had become more like a fortress than a research facility. A large wall surrounded the camp and on a near daily basis Amara and her betrothed, General Lyron, led an attack on the camp. Every day they were fought off and the fortress stood for another day. The Rangers have fought hard these past few months, but it has become clear that the endgame is upon us, and one side will inevitably have to fall.

It was a typical day at the camp as General Lyron led an assault on the beach with an army of Jellies. Lyron's forces were countered on the ground by five of the rangers. Meanwhile above them, the Atlantean Ultrazord piloted by the Black Ranger did battle with the White Leviathan Zord. For what seemed like an eternity both sides were unyielding. When all of a sudden a cry was heard from the beach. As the Zord pilots turned towards the sound what had transpired became painfully clear as the Ultrazord began to break apart. Down on the beach impaled by Lyron's blade was Doctor Donald Reynolds, the Red Ranger. His limp body unmorphed as is fell to the ground. In the chaos that ensued nobody noticed that Lyron had removed Donald's Morpher as he left.

Back at the palace Emperor Ragnor praised his general for defeating a Ranger and reclaiming a Morpher. He then chastised his daughted for ordering a retreat when they should have pressed their advantage. Ragnor placed the Morpher in a well, and dark energy began to flow into it. He dismissed his subordinates and focused his attention on the Morpher.

The mood back at the base was decidedly more somber. The crew of the Darwin held a vigil for their fallen leader. All but one, like most nights Remy, the Black Ranger, was missing. An absence that did not go unnoticed by the others. As the surviving rangers theorized where it was Remy went every night and how insensitive it was to miss Donald's funeral, they also acknowledged that Amara's betrayal had hit him particularly hard as they had grown close before she left. Just then the vigil was interrupted by a loud explosion at the wall. A squadron of Jellies had breached the wall, led by a familiar, yet twisted looking Ranger. This new Dark Ranger proved to be more than a match for the others. Easily overpowering them as he made his way through the camp. It wasn't until The Black Ranger appeared that they were able to force the Dark Ranger to flee.

The fight resulted in Felix, the Yellow Ranger being severely injured. The Rangers demanded to know where Remy was. Remy revealed to them that he had remained in contact with Amara ever since she left the team. And every night they both snuck out to meet each other. He then told them that he had a plan to defeat Emperor Ragnor once and for all.

The next day was different. When the Jellies arrived to attack the camp, they found it empty. They swarmed the camp searching every structure but found no people. That is until they made their way to the center cabin, where they found an injured Felix, a detonator in his hand. Felix pressed the button and all throughout the camp lights began to flash, revealing the entire camp had been rigged with explosives.

Elsewhere Ava the Pink Ranger, Sai the Blue Ranger, and Maya the Green Ranger were storming a now unguarded palace. They were met by Ragnor himself, who commended them for having the resolve to sacrifice one of their own to stop his army. But It mattered not because his daughter and general had set a trap for the Black Ranger. In the distance a second, more violent explosion could be seen from the palace gate as Ragnor began to laugh maniacally, stating he too was willing to make the tough sacrifices. While the Rangers stood there processing what just happened Ragnor struck. Hitting Maya with a blast of Dark energy. A moment later her body unmorphed as it collapsed to the ground.

Sai and Ava fought bravely against Emperor Ragnor, Even managing to push him back. But as it seemed they were about to win, the maniacal laughing began again. From an unknown source something struck Sai, piercing his armor. A confused look was seen on his face as he began to unmorph, blood covering his chest. Ava looked around to see the Jellie army surrounding her. Taking advantage of the situation Emperor Ragnor used the confusion to turn the tables. He beat Ava to the point she couldn't get back up before revealing why their plan was destined to fail. The Jellies were magically enhanced jellyfish. The reason the army never seemed to end is because jellyfish have a gene that render them immortal. Meaning that every day it was the same Jellies attacking their base. And even more demoralizing, despite Felix's sacrifice, the Jellies simply regenerated and returned to the palace. Ragnor then picked up the defenseless Ranger, walked her over to a cliff, and let go.

Ava awoke in a hospital bed some time later. Once Ragnor left the island, the wards that hid the island from the outside world dissipated. It wasn't long after that a rescue boat arrived to bring back the crew. Ava was found in a tree at the bottom of a cliff still morphed. It turned out her armor had protected her. The TV in the room showed a breaking news story detailing Ragnor's campaign across the planet. It was at that moment a man in black entered the room. He relayed the situation to Ava, Ragnor has began to wage war on the world. But he was being met with some strong opposition. Despite this it was believed that given his pace Ragnor would probably make it to the US in roughly a decade. To that Ava responded that they "had no time to waste".
