Description
While my Warriors fan comic, Before the Dawn, is currently on indefinite, I'm taking the time to flesh everything out, which includes designing the characters. This one was easy, as all I did was take drawings from the two completed pages. The rest will be rough sketches, just getting the characters designs down.

Shrikestar

Personality: Intelligent, analytical, thoughtful, and excellent with strategy and the divvying up of time and resources. Shrikestar is generally level-headed and not easily goaded into fighting, but has a prideful streak that can sometimes get the best of him. He suffers from a similar anxiety to his son, Hemlockpaw, and his thoughtful nature can sometimes lead him to over think and become fixated on the wrong things. While excellent with the political aspects of running a clan, Shrikestar is surprisingly pretty distant from his clan socially, due to his unconventional upbringing. He was born from a forbidden romance between Frostfoot, a Windclan she-cat, and Pikefang, a Riverclan tom. Upon finding out that Frostfoot was expecting his kits, Pikefang panicked and ran out on her. Frostfoot fell into a depression and didn’t take good care of herself during her pregnancy, leading to two of her three kits being born dead. Overcome with grief, Frostfoot reasoned that her remaining kit was better off without her, and she walked out onto the Thunderpath to end her life. Shrikekit was left all alone, with no kin, and a clan that didn’t really know how to interact with him after all that had happened. He had a very lonely upbringing, and became somewhat socially awkward as a result. The only bright spot in all of this was Hollyfur, his best friend and eventual mate, and the only cat who made an effort to reach out to him growing up. She saw the best in him, and encouraged him in the times when he felt like he wanted to give up. She gave him the strength to rise above his sad start in life and become a leader that Windclan can be proud of, and for that Shrikestar couldn't be more thankful.

Personality: Responsible, even-tempered, and easy to get along with. Specklewing is rarely known to lose her temper or let her emotions override her judgment, making her an excellent choice for deputy. Though friendly and approachable, Specklewing isn't the most touchy feely of cats and often has trouble pinning down and expressing complex emotions. Her idea of working through emotional turmoil is a good training session or a long hunt. She never saw herself as the mothering time, and didn't have any plans to have kits. However, when Windclan was struck by a devastating greencough plague a few seasons back, most of the clans' kits died and the queens were left physically and emotionally exhausted. Fearful that the loss in numbers would negatively impact the clan, Specklewing decided that she had to do something. She made an arrangement with Tigerlily, a transgender she-cat who desperately wanted kits of her own, to serve as a surrogate. Specklewing would bear the kits, but once they no longer needed to nurse, Tigerlily would take over caring for them. The two had three healthy kits together, and through caring for them would eventually discover their love for each other. Though Specklewing isn't always able to articulate her feelings, she loves her family dearly, and her children all look up to her.

Personality: Heathclaw is an arrogant, loudmouthed tom who loves nothing more than talking smack and bragging about his latest achievements. He always seems to be itching for a fight, but isn't nearly as brave as he would like others to believe. He's never been given an apprentice, due to his recklessness and lack of patience, but serves the clan well as a hunter and fighter. As an apprentice he much more mean-spirit, and admittedly a bit of a bully, but time and his relationship with his family has mellowed him out slightly. Although abrasive in most aspects, he is a surprisingly loving and supportive mate and father.

Personality: Before coming to terms with her identity, Tigerlily was an insecure, unhappy little tom named Tigerpaw. Time and the support of her friends and family allowed her to accept herself as a she-cat, and she was given a name to reflect that. These days Tigerlily is an easygoing, reliable, self-assured, and caring cat. She's good-natured and patient, but not afraid to assert herself if the need arises. In particular, she is often the one to keep Heathclaw’s ego in check, and isn’t above using her greater size to subdue her big-headed brother. She was even given the chance to mother a litter of kits, serving as a surrogate for Specklewing, who she would later fall in love with. She's very close with her siblings, mate, and kits, and all of her friends know that Tigerlily is always willing to lend a sympathetic ear if they're going through a hard time.

Rookstar
Thunderclan leader

Age: Nine years
Personality: Prideful, untrusting, stubborn, and confrontational, Rookstar seems to live for making trouble. She doesn't have love for any cat outside her own clan, and seems to see the warrior code more as guidelines than actual rules. She doesn't like to feel like she's been intimidated or belittled, and her greatest fear is being seen as weak, especially now that she's getting up there in age. Despite all of this, Rookstar is a good leader within her own clan, leading them through countless famines, disasters, and illnesses, and her cats respect her a great deal.

Merlinheart

Sex: Female
Age: Five years
Personality: Level-headed, responsible, thoughtful, and respectful, Merlinheart is basically the polar opposite of her leader, but she has a lot of respect for Rookstar and wants to do what she expects of her while still being mindful of the warrior code.
