Description
Kopa stared up at the blue-black piece of sky that seemed to rise slowly from the fiery horizon as the sun sank lower over the savannah. The darkening sky above him was flat and starless, it seemed even the Great Kings had abandoned him tonight. The scabbed wounds on his body still ached, and he remembered the terrible sensation of Zira's fangs sinking through his skin. He fixed his eyes on the sky above him, tears rolling down his cheeks, "How can I be such a coward? I'm supposed to be a prince." He was so afraid of what would happen if Zira found out he was still alive, so afraid to even go home to his parents. "I guess I'm not a prince after all...just a coward...my parents deserve better than me."This is a remake of this picture [link] which I submitted in April. It’s the same picture, I just adjusted some things and then redid the lineart in Photoshop. I think the shading and brightening up of the picture made a huge difference and I’m really proud of how this turned out. Yeah, I know he had amber eyes like Simba in the Six New Adventures books, but I liked the idea of giving him blue-grey eyes like his mom. Anyway, for those who don’t know, I never liked the ‘Zira killed Kopa’ theory for why Simba and Nala’s son (from the ‘Six New Adventures’ books and the end of the first movie) didn’t appear in the second movie, so I made a story of my own. Here, Zira did attack Kopa, but he was saved by Nala’s brother Mheetu, but was too ashamed and scared to go back home. Thanks in advance for any faves.
