Description
My attempt to join the very awesome group, #The-Golden-Butterfly .2,022 words
“The true hero isn’t the one who walks fearlessly into battle, but the one who feels fear and chooses to overcome it.”
Name: Katniss (Nicknamed “Catnip”)
Kit Name: Kinza (Meaning “Treasure”)
Gender: Female
Breed: Siamese Lynx Point
Accessories: Feather
Profession: Miner
Age: 12 Moons
Soulbond: None
Description:
With a lithe, slender frame, Katniss is quick and light on her paws. She has the ideal shape for a hunter, but she lacks massively in strength. She has small, quaint paws and is overall rather short for her age group. Pale pelt with dark, faded stripes on her face, tail, and limbs, brown muzzle and pink nose, and all her features are dainty. She inherited her icy blue eyes from her mother, a Siamese with a similar body shape, while her darker traits are from her father.
Facts
Personality:
[ Quiet ] [ Innocent ] [ Polite ] [ Patient ] [ Stubborn ] [ Clumsy ]
Being naturally quiet makes it harder for this she-cat to make friends. She won’t freely approach a new cat, and is very self-conscious about her appearance. She will especially do her best to avoid any male she comes across that is her age, in fear that she will humiliate herself. If she can’t avoid the confrontation, Katniss will try to put on a tough-girl act that she usually regrets later. Upcoming confrontation makes her nervous, though she does make an effort. She finds it hard to think on her feet, and does not have a good memory - though she is intelligent.
The only fights Katniss has participated in were harmless play fights and maybe a petty argument about what tomcat was cutest. Her claws have never been used against a cat, and she prefers to keep it that way unless to save a Tribe-mate.
Brief Backstory
-Before the birth of Katniss-

-Katniss' Birth-
It was the height of winter, heavy storm clouds covering the sky in a dark blanket, when the young Siamese female retreated to a small den. Her bulging stomach ached unbearably, and she knew it wasn’t going to be swollen for much longer. Her kits were about to wake up.
The deafening drumming of the raindrops beat against the roof of the cave, but the young female’s shriek still echoed through the forest. She clenched her teeth together in a vain attempted to keep herself from drawing any unwanted attention to herself, but she longed for the comfort of her mate.
Ironic. Choose the stormiest, coldest night of the year to be born.
You really got timing.
The exhausted female rested her head on her paws, as if she was unable to keep it up any longer. A sigh escaped her mouth, turning into a faint mist. The high-pitched mewl of a kit made her ear swivel backwards. Eyes clamped shut, the tiny scrap crawled blindly toward her. She glanced back at her other kittens. Three, she counted, satisfaction sparkling in her half-closed, icy gaze. A small cough made her ears pin against her skull. Their fragile bodies would not offer much protection from the cold.
Malaikah lifted her head, though her muscles screamed in protest. She could not afford to sleep.
The Siamese rasped her tongue along the body of her shivering kit, with her tail curled around the other. It had been two days since their birth, and she had already lost one. She could not leave the den to hunt in fear that they would die.
She had slept seldom since they were born, and she hardly had any energy left. Her milk was running less and less, and her kits were painfully weak. Her tired eyes stared down at the tiny body at her paws. Her gaze clouded with tears as the last of its warmth left its body.
Malaikah, grief stricken, had practically given up on taking care of her last kit. She knew if she did not leave now to hunt she would lose her own life.
Summoning the last of her strength, she hauled herself to her paws, squeezing her eyes tight as the high-pitched mewl of her kit called after her. She would not dare look back at it.
The young female took a regretful step toward the entrance of the den, but halted as the faint thudding of paws sounded outside. Ears pinned against her head, Malaikah drew her teeth back in a snarl, expecting an attacker to appear at the entrance.
“Malaikah?”
She could have burst into tears at that moment. Her beloved mate was finally back.
Apollos and Malaikah spent all their time devoted to their last offspring, Kinza, meaning “treasure”. They spoiled her, and her health took a dramatic incline. She was small but fast, and they knew she would be able to take care of herself if needed.
Three moons after the birth of Kinza, disaster struck. Malaikah caught a fatal disease and died only days after showing the symptoms. Apollos took over the care of Kinza, and never let her out of his sight, but he still needed to resume his warrior duties.
The lynx point left to hunt, and did not return. Kinza still to this day dreams of one day finding him. She will not believe that he died.

Roleplay Example:
Taken from #EmpiresBeforeClans
The quiet noises of the forest critters scrambling around to find a place to sleep for the night soothed the young jaguar’s ears. Darkness gripped the land once again, but this feline was not ready to turn herself in yet. She lifted her emerald gaze to the moon as it hovered over the forests of Fire Empire’s territory, shining its silver light down on all those in the valley. Right now she felt like being alone. She did not want to bother other cats with her nonsense, and the stars were good listeners.
Healer work was very lonely at times. The other apprentices just did not understand. They all seemed so happy, and Kinza would often watch them and other cubs alike playing in camp. Her heaving mind against their worriless minds seemed almost unfair. But was this what she wanted? A life of loneliness? Maybe it would suit her. Ironic, really, that she gained this rank. Healing Fire Empire cats could never right the wrong she did in the City.
Kinza continued asking questions that would never have an answer. The wind seemed to carry her words away as it passed her. A sigh escaped her mouth and her green gaze, clouded with uncertainty, dropped to a leaf that sat by her paws. There’s no use arguing about it, really, the jaguar cub thought grudgingly. She was helping her Empire, maybe even more than the average gladiator apprentice. If this was the fate she needed to face, so be it. With that, the leaf lifted into the air by the breeze and flew out of sight.
Kinza brushed through the ferns that guarded the entrance to Fire Empire’s camp. Her uneven limp always made her feel self-conscious about what the other cats would think when they see her. A few gladiators were still awake, but the healer apprentice did not stop to talk. She slowly made her the healer’s den, hoping to find her mentor there. He was probably the only one who understood her, and she could freely say anything that was on her mind when she was around him.
Her ears fell back when she saw that the den was empty. She quietly picked her way to the other end of the den and sat down in a small bed of moss that was put beside a slightly larger one for Claudius. Kinza lowered herself into a laying position and set her head on her right paw, since her left was missing. It was simple things like this that were made a whole lot harder for Kinza. She was still learning to do things without her left foreleg. It was only a moon since it had been amputated. She had been born with a slight limp, but this was, of course, harder.
Alas, there was no use feeling sorry for herself. What is done is done.
Kinza shut her eyes and sleep finally overtook her.
Hopefully everything is up to standard.
