Description
This is a variation on my War Paint illustration. Motorcycles were often used for recon and as forward observers. For this one I outfitted the rider as part of the 92nd Armored Field Artillery Battalion, "The Red Devils" of the 2nd Armored Division, "Hell on Wheels"!Adobe Illustrator 8.0, Apple Macintosh G4 Power Mac and G3 iMac, OS 9.2.

Oh, this is beautiful! I absolutely love the layout and the detail. There definitely is a lot there but the subtle tones and the brilliant composition just brings it altogether so nicely. Fantastic piece, Don and i'm so sorry that took me forever to comment on any of your work. I've been ignoring my message center for far too long. I LOVE this!

Thanks! I kind of went overboard with all the detail. The colors are a set of OD and Khaki colors I made up for doing military illustrations.

Thanks Ahmed! I tried to outfit him for any situation, the Thompson, the 1911 Colt, enough ammo for both. I added a few more items over the weekend, watch for the upadate.

Thanks! It's a 2nd Armored Division patch, there are other armored division patches that look like this too. The only difference is the number and some have type under them, this one says "Hell on Wheels" under the triangle. I could upload a detail of the patch if you like?

its just I use to have a jacket with a patch something like that
I think it was the colors of it that made me have a flash back of it
it was one of my fav. jackets
