And so here's another chapter in Yoko's life before I go on to work on commissions:

NOTE TO THE ONES NOT IN THE FANDOM: Yoko is a character that I'm using in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles roleplay, so you will be finding aspects of that peppered into her backstory. Just thought I'd warn you!

Yoko was indeed raised in the Foot Clan, but that doesn't mean that she was necessarily treated like one of them. In fact, she was probably the most ostracized person in there. She inherited the shame that Mashimi brought to himself for being defeated and killed in a duel in the presence of the Shredder, as he was the one who brought her into the clan and whose name she inherited. Because of that, no one saw her worthy to be trained as a ninja. Instead, she became a maid.

Not only was she a maid, she was also the all-around scapegoat. If there was a hair in someone's soup, it was Yoko's fault. It didn't matter if the hair was curly and that hers is straight. Someone made a mess in the kitchen? Must be Yoko. Even if she was on laundry duty that entire day. Had a bad day? It doesn't matter what your reason is, you can take it out on Yoko. And so to avoid as much punishment as possible, Yoko made it a habit to check everything up, down, and sideways to make sure that everything is spic and span and in perfect condition. Otherwise she gets it, no matter whose fault it is.

And it wasn't only the help that took their anger out on her. The young ninjas in training loved to use her as a punching bag as well. Partially because it was already common practice to beat up on her already, and partially because it was fascinating that she never cried out no matter how much you hurt her. While there might have been one or two who found it rather creepy, saying that it was as if she was watching you and figuring you out while you punished her, majority of them considered it convenient.

As much as they liked to beat her though, there was a silent agreement that while they could give her as many bruises and bumps as they wished, nobody ever takes it to the level where any scarring would occur. They still needed their maid, after all. That is, until the new boy Ryuu came.

Ryuu was a severely angry young lad from another faction of the clan, who was handed over to the Shredder for training. Indeed, this kid had the temper of a rabid wolf. In a random display of anger he attacked Yoko and slashed her across the chest, almost killing her. This was the first time she had ever considered anybody around her dangerous.
