Description
This is a picture of the Queen of Hearts as I would picture her. Sitting upon her throne she waits for the next person for her to play with and steal thier heart, and not by the means of love. This Queen has no love, and she lost it long ago when another had stolen her own heart and now she steals other to try and find something to substitute for her own which is missing. Along the way she picked up gunnary (which she has quite a collection of). She steals hearts and locks them away for all eternity and for those who attampt to get them back must make a deal with the Queen much like you would if you were to make a deal with the devil, which means there are consiquences to getting it back. Most people don't survive long enough to get thier hearts returned to them and the queen sees to that.I worked 40-50 hours on this piece, and I like it very very much. I never worked so long or so hard on a piece before and I think from now on I am going to work on pieces much like I did this one. I like the quality of it much more then I do some of the other one's I did. So please tell me what you think of this piece! Full View Please! You get to see more detail! I think I am going to add a little more to it but not much.
If anyone would like a print of this piece let me know or a shirt and I will set it up so that you can get one, as long as there is enough demand for it.

Now that is just awesome. There is a rich feel of perspective and weight in the checkered floor, and your story matches the character well, and the gun really adds to it. Nice colouring style

This turned out so very well, it is a lovely piece. It really shows you placed a lot of time to this as it is quite refined. It would be great to see how the next one's going to turn out

Could I just venture to say that she doesnt quiiiite look evil enough for someone who has no heart? Although... that look of innocence is alluring and treacherous indeed, so I like it just the way it is

You must have put a good amount of effort and time into rendering this image. The candles, "webs," and the outfit do show a good level of detail. The queeen does exhibit a feeling of evil and mischief. Overall, a well-done picture.

oh my! that is awesomely drawn! when i try to CG, it never turns out nearly as good! How did you do the hair?? and the candles give it a great feeling! ^^

it is kind of hard to explain how I did the hair so I am going to pull up a tutorial that is kind of how I did it. BUt if you don't have a wacom tablet it is nearly impossible to do it. I know this is a fur tutorial but it is the closest thing to the way I did the hair. [link]

very very nice.
One thing though, your shading for the skin on the main character makes the person look old and wrinkled. You used smudge tool right? 
Also, the mist in the back looks very out of place. Its like everything is so nice then suddenly the mist in the back spoils everything. It looks like u did that in a 3d software as well(Maya, 3d Max). Try to keep within one medium unless you really really know what you're doing.
Other than that, really awesome. Kudos to you. And 50 hours...thats REALLY long, *bows*.

My Photoshop does not have airbrush...all it has is paintbrush and pencil... *sigh* And I know about the mist thing but it was done in photoshop and I can never get mist to come put right...maybe you can help me out?

You can add a liitle blur to make it look more convincing.
Yep, but no airbrush? Maybe u do have it, but maybe the name is different. My photoshop is CS2 btw.

I have Photoshop 7.0. Which is rather new...I think within the last 2 years or so... What is the diffrence between Photoshop 7.0 and Photoshop CS? Everyone I ask doesn't know... Nope no airbrush that I know of...

I used to have 7, and that had airbrush.
Airbrush is the brush that has the edges fading out. You just probably don't know its called airbrush. Its in the Basic Brush palette I think.
CS2 has more brushes and filters I think. Not too sure though.

I think competing against yourself is really hard to do. It is not only the hours, but the ideas, and vision you saw in this to make you work so long. I think the next picture will take a long time to start, a long time in the process, and a even longer time to be happy with. Just do what makes you happiest and let the art happen, without confinement, and achevements to beat.

Wow.. great detail, especially the candles in the background. The mist effects ans tiled floor are a bit textureless and computery, but don't detract from the image as a whole. Good stuff.
