Description

I practiced shading clothes a lot in this piece ;v; And also working with lots of saturated colors...I was really in the mood for those. And woAw another OC?! Surprise surprise. His name's Vincent (for now =v= the name was really hard to choose)~ And the birdy represents another OC of mine that exists in this world...By the way! I really wanted to draw a bird and this type of bird - the pink breasted robin - matched his color palette perfectly! They're gorgeous! if you have time search up a picture of them >u<

Oi, it's time for some ProjectComment action!

First off I want to say that I really like the colors in this drawing. They're really vibrant and the palette works pretty well together. I would also like to compliment you on the shading for the hair. It looks great and has a nice blend of dark and light colors - excellent job!

I noticed that you blurred the petals closer to the viewer and kept the focal point on the character. It's great that you are thinking about this kind of thing and using these kind of effects for depth. It's not really something I see often so your mind is in a good place.

As far as things you can do to improve for next time, there are a few things I would suggest.

For starters, I think the proportions of the characters can be worked on a bit. His head is almost the size of his entire torso. Generally the male figure is around 7 1/2 to 8 heads tall. Although anime proportions would be altered, I think it would be helpful to review the ideal male proportions and work from there. Also of note, the ear a little too high up on his head. The top of the ear is normally in line with the top of the eyes and bottom of the ear will sit around the bottom of the nose. A pretty quick fix, but paying attention to stuff like this will make a huge difference. You are drawing things well, you just need to study a bit more of the placement and size of things, which again leads back to proportions.

The other thing I would say is that the coloring on the clothes looks a little splotchy. I think the solution here would be to blend the colors in more gradually and pay more attention to where the your light source is and how it will hit the folds in the clothing. It's also colored stylistically differently than the hair, so I would suggest to stick with one style or the other throughout the piece for now.

I think that's all I can think of at the moment. Hopefully this will help you going forward.

Great job and looking forwards to seeing where you take your art!

waa thank you so much for all the helpful tips! TvT I knew the proportions were off but I hadn't even realized how much ^o^; I didn't intend for my heads to be so big ;=; even in my latest piece...hAh! thank you for bringing my attention to it! Same with all your tips on proportions! what even is anatomy I'll definitely keep those in mind >///< and someday I hope I'll be happy with the way I color clothes too :I like you mentioned I noticed that I incorporate two styles in my piece ;v; nevertheless your tip on coloring clothes will be something I keep in mind for the next time I draw! I bet it'll help out with my problem óvò Thank you so much again! I really appreciate your feedback!

Hello there I'm come from

Simply beautiful the colors are so vibrant and that pose and compositions are well balance, plus he looks so awesome. You manage to draw saturated colors perfectly and that is not make eyes hurt to see (sometimes when people draw in saturated colors, it is hard to see) and your succession draw using saturated color make this picture become interesting and eye catchy.
Also you draw details on his cloth so nice, I see you spend much time drawing his clothes and hair and it come out so nice, I can understand the fun when doing a big piece, it's so fun and challenging and the end results are always satisfying

Although there are some point I wanted to point out in here and I hope you okay with this.
His anatomy are kinda a bit off for me tough, like his body are appears too small compare to his hand, head and neck, kinda not proportional. But don't worry, drawing anatomy are so tricky. Let me say that it will take many sessions to cover the wonders of the human body. Not only is it among the most sophisticated animal structures in nature, it is also one of those with most variations: few other species come in so many shapes and colors. Nobody, therefore, should feel frustrated for having trouble drawing people.. it is an ambitious undertaking.

The first fundamental to acquire is proportions, and we need practicing with this basic figure for a while, while we become familiar, not only with the conventional "ideal proportions", but also with the way they vary with gender, age, even ethnic background.

The measurement (ideal male height = eight heads) was set down during the renaissance as an idealization of the human form. It’s rather obvious that very few people are actually eight heads tall (even Northern Europeans, who served as basis for this model, are closer to seven heads), but this is still the best model to start with, as it makes it easier to grasp the alignments. So I can say, his body seen a little too small even if your try to make him appears like a "bishie", maybe you can stretch his body vertically aside from his head. For your future reference, I recommend you to try to learn this simple guide about male anatomy:

Again, as I can said, a really well done piece, with only a few relatively minor flaws. Hopefully you'll find my pointers helpful.... If you find a problem about how to understand it nicely don't forget to research, google are the best place to gather information
and sorry for some typo and broken english hhhhh

There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to draw, but rather an acceptance of diversity and recognition that every drawing... no matter how much you dislike it, provides a chance for you to figure out something new. The key to knowing when you’ve practiced a specific skill enough is when you’re happy with your results

Despite all that this is an amazing art ^^ the pose, expression and composition are awesome
