I decided to start doing character concepts in my free time. To help expand my portfolio a bit. In a couple minutes I'll have a poll up asking which genre to doodle up a character in next week.

So. where the heck did this come from?

well my sister entered a digimon group, and I was thinking about how she based her character off of herself and what I think she wants her life to be like. And decided to do something a bit the opposite.

With the theme "Digimon" in mind, I thought to myself, "What if I never got out of my fat phase and didn't try to do anything to change myself and my unhealthy habits?" Well this is what I came up with. It was interesting to me that even when I weighed 220lbs in middle school and looked like an olive on two very fat toothpicks, I really didn't accumulate any fat around my ankles, in my feet or in my hands, face and neck. Of course, due to this I always thought my head was disproportionately small in comparison to my body and I HATED having my picture taken. In fact, from that year I only had ONE picture of myself and it was because it was required for our group projects.

So I was thinking of what an older me from that deep end would look like. As I grew up and went to high school and beyond, I developed a very nice pear shape mixed with the "X" shape. And since my weight kind of just spread proportionately over my bones (my height then was anywhere between 5'8" to 5'9.75") I decided that that was how I would approach this character. And those who are my friends might insist that I am anything but fat, but lovies, you did not know my middle school self. I ate myself into a depression so deep that I am still not at a healthy weight today. I will admit that the me today has a very lovely body, but it's still not where I want it health-wise.

Anywho, moving on, Seraphinamon was the digimon I came up with. She's a sort of Yeti crossed with a sloth. The little dots along her neck are actually nodules that release gasses that affect anyone within range who breathes/smells it. The heart-shaped fur pattern on her chest is a mood indicator as her expression NEVER changes :3

And I bet some of you are wondering "Why a Yeti and a sloth?" Well for one, Yetis are HUGE and FURRY. And for those who've known me a while, Snorlax and Lapras are my favorite pokemon (along with squishy and fat pikachus) so in the same strain of thought, anything that is lazy or allows me to be lazy is generally something I like. One of my favorite people I mentally equate to a giant bear all the time. Cuddly and cute when resting or playing, and deadly srs bznss when angered.

Anywho it was a fun exercise and I'll probably do another one on my next day off :3
