Description
A work in progress of an old school assignment.I plastered down the basic shadows and now hope to go over the whole thing and paint on top the values to give it a more painterly effect and then to glaze in the color.
While I am not happy with a lot of the buildings, it is one of my favorite of environments.

What makes this so brilliant is the mixture of line weights, a hint of object lines to emphasize objects without really pushing it into the persons face and shouting "SEE? SEE?! THIS IS A THING, NOT THIS THING!!!"
And as a former architectural major, the buildings are done fantastically. slight wonks here and there, but the majority of it is done with such detail that it's beautiful.

The shadows You've already did give an awestrucking effect. Plus the details already seem interesting. Good luck with the work!
Cheers

If you like it, here's the video that I studied: [link]
I've been wanting to do something similar. I've always wanted to do a painting that started out black and white and ended in color. And till now I haven't found a good source that really showed an artist's process that I could understand and follow and interpret into my own work.
