A Steam themed visual style for Windows 7. (Now updated with flash and progress bar version).
(Here's a video showing how the theme should look like when fully applied )
The visual style incorporates the appearance of Steam with a functioning Windows visual style.
The theme comes with 2 substyles - aside from the default, there's an automatically centering taskbar, and a more simple one. Will be adding another style later. Taskbar is usable with small icons, and side taskbar too, though the main focus is the bottom mode.
I'll be making matching icons and templates in a later release, but for now, it uses the timeless Token icons, as it was almost a perfect match for the Steam look. I'm also planning to make a matching Rainmeter suite.
I've also made preparations for making the Pixel Vision Steam theme styles VS.

I've also made an installer to be used with 7TSP.
I've separately uploaded the 7tsp installer, since DA has some kind of problem updating the main file when zip inside zip is involved. Download from my st.ash:

How to install:
You can install the theme using 7tsp now!
You can download 7tsp here: www.xptsp.com/fixit/7tsp.php
Download and install 7tsp, and browse for the .7z pack inside it, then click on "Start Patching".
OR the old method
What you have to do:
- Download and install UxStyle (uxstyle.com) OR Universal Theme Patcher.
- Copy the contents of Themes folder to \Windows\resources\themes folder.
- Apply it in personalization or double clicking .theme file you like.

Is your taskbar locked? I don't recall this even happening to me, but maybe that's why.

It's not a problem visually but you can't click on Show Desktop just by moving the pointer to the corner, like with Win7's default theme

You can use start orb changer v4 (or similar program), or a resource editor (like Restorator) to edit explorer.exe manually.

Hi,
i installed these themes and all was okay, but after +-1 hour i getting some problem with taskbar.Now im getting for all of these themes taskbar from windows xp (without aero). like -> .. can someone help me please ?

Hmm, I could help if I was able to see your pic, but somehow I can't. Well, if you mean it's looking like that old look from Win 98 or the so called Windows Classic, or it looks like that Aero Basic (title bars light blue without transparency) it means your system isn't allowing third party themes. In this case you would need to do the "hack" for uxthemes.dll.
If your case is not what I'm talking here then sorry as I may have misunderstood. By the way, XP never had Aero, it started with Vista, then why I may have misunderstood it.

Great theme, thank you. In some programs there is a black text not white as usual. For example in VLC player clickable options are dark and not clickable are white tinypic.com/r/wb8dgz/9. Could be these changed?

I'm not the creator but I could answer based on what I have seen before. Possibly not because some softwares use their own colors for UI instead using Win theme, so in this case changing the Win theme won't change those areas, sadly enough. Take as example the Run dialog in explorer itself. It doesn't use the whole theme colors and it even has odd white background when using this theme. I believe it could be something out of this author's reach :S

I ended up using the Basic theme. Good riddance to the pesky aero "features".
Albeit I still would like to know if there is a way to reduce the taskbar size.

Sorry for the late answer. I'm not sure if you're at all familiar with theme making, if so, you can probably make it smaller than shows, but if not it's a pretty difficult task.
And currently I can't use my Style Builder either, otherwise I'd make one swiftly. Sorry.

I'm using the "Simple" version and minus the fact that it enlarges my taskbar (I like it the old Win XP style) is a great theme overall. Cheers.

I really love the look of this, but one thing that upsets me is you can't have your taskbar sideways. I have my taskbar to the left of my screen by default, and it doesn't work with this theme.

So I installed the theme few months ago, then upgraded to Windows 10 from 7. Dumb me forgot to restore the default themes first, so now my win10 UI is sort of messed up. It's nothing major, but it really bugs me. Is there a way to somehow repair this? I tried using the patcher, but it was unable to do its thing on new OS.
I really don't want to go through a fresh windows 10 install.

I think i miss something. the clock wont change and also the icons in my library, computer and documents wont change.

The clock should be the timedate.cpl file. You might need to restart your explorer.exe / Windows Explorer after you replace the original timedate.cpl.
For the icons, you might try this:

Great theme. Only downside is that it makes office software like word, excel, office etc, dark. Is there a way of preventing this?

Sadly as of now, you have to manually set Office not to use automatic colors, and select solid white background and black text.

This is now my Go To theme for Windows 7, love the Grey on Black-grey. I'd love to see more contrast in Drop down menus as they show up as Grey on Grey and entirely unreadable except for the highlighted option, which shows as Dary Grey (showing where the cursor is and what is selected) and light grey as the text color (same color as the non selected fields)

Hi yorgash, i saw your theme today, it is insane awesome! Great Work! I installed the theme but went back to the default aero theme because of the 'back/forward' buttons in the explorer taskbar. A minor reason was that i don't like the left arrow that is touching the side of the border with it's point, i think it will be much nicer when you drag i a little bitmore to the right, but the main reason was, I use the program Classic Shell 'Classic Explorer' to add the 'Up' arrow that was removed in windows 7, but the look of this 'Up' arrow can't be changed, and using this arrow with the themes back/forward arrows feels very strange and looks very bad, two different arrows. Are you going to plan a version of this theme with the Aero theme back/forward arrows instead of the newer arrows for users that are using 'Classic Explorer'?
